Checkers — Restaurant in Statesboro

I don't often post negative reviews, but I was highly disappointed by my experience at the Checkers drive-through on the evening of 08/26/2021.

I pulled into the outside service lane. The menu was lit and there was no cone or sign to indicate that the lane was closed. I waited a while but no one took my order, as several cars ordered and passed through the inside lane. I asked "hello?" to see if the speaker was working but got no response.

I drove back around and this time entered the inside lane, having to wait again behind several new cars. When my turn finally came and an employee spoke to me through the intercom, I asked if the outside lane was out of service because I had not been able to use it. The employee ignored me and barked out a command for me to place my order. I asked if he had heard my question, but he abruptly repeated his directive for me to "go ahead and place the order." He kept repeating the same phrase, getting more snappy each time I tried to ask something. So I just left. This treatment was completely rude and unnecessary; all he had to say was something simple such as "I'm sorry about that" or "not sure what happened, we'll look into it."

Statesboro prides itself in being a friendly town, and this unprofessional experience was completely out of line with the level of service I've come to enjoy from area restaurants. If you want a quick and friendly drive-through experience, go to KFC next door. I won't be back to...

Took a break from work and went here to grab something fast to east bc I didn't want to drive far, let's just say I should've just eased on down to McDonald's or anywhere else. 1st off the automated (Ai) worker or whatever they call it, got in my last nerve, bc when u edit ur sandwich it gets confused so a worker had to step in and place my order, which I got the 5 mix n match make it a meal. I spent a lil over $8 which was a waste bc my sprite which I got without ice was flat, the fish sandwich was a lil hard around the edges and nasty which the grease more in likely need to be switched out (I worked fastfood before so I know when items are cooked in none rotated or burnt grease). The hamburger was also nasty and had a taste to it, I just can't explain. Besides that, it was just ughhhhh. The fries were the only thing I enjoyed. Ever since they moved to this new location, the food has been nasty. They need their old crew back from when it was at their last location. I will not be eating here again. I thought since the last time I ate here, it would've gotten a lil better, but it seems worse. I want waste another penny here. Forgot to add also that the drive thru service...

There's usually always at least one thing off, while the rest is fine. Sometimes the chicken is old or overcooked. Sometimes they give you the wrong sandwich. Sometimes there's zero sauces. But 99% of the stuff is usually right, and when it's right, it's perfectly delicious. It's just a bit of a Russian Roulette each trip, but it's worth it.

Not to mention their late hours are extremely convenient for college students. This is often the only good take-out place open at night.

Also, they are impressively quick and organized with the drive thru. Some people say it's really slow, but idk, I've seen a lot worse at the McDonald's. People seem to be more impatient at this Checkers. All the cars that the leave the line early make it even quicker for you, though!

I just wish they were more consistent with their quality control.

Fries are AMAZING...
