It's sad to see so many 5star reviews. Evidently people who think a facade and staff 8n dress means real qualkry German food. Food was kinda German but not very good. Snitzel offered, was only pork, no viel for the Wienerschnitzel. Jägerschnitzel was pork(?), small paties and not large thin cuts typical, a bit thick, greasy fried and not breaded well. Mushroom sauce was not good st all! (This was one if my favorite dishes living in Germany... and this was not even close). Sauerbraten was poor quality! It was stringy, small, THIN slices. It was served with a think cream sauce (quivers), not the traditional Harty sauce made from souring liquids.... Really Sorry) Appearance and presentation was poor! (See photos). The taste was sour but not really what is consided authenic. Poor quality of meat made it difficult to eat. Red Cabage was good, the gravey in my snitzel appeared to be made from the water of the soured cabage and brown grave mix... seriously! Again look at color.

Spätzle was ok but DEFINITLY NOT FRESH. It appeared to have been warmed up in a frying pan. (Imagine taking left over noodle ftom your fridge and heating term up for Spaghetti in a frying pan... you got the idea. (Save those leftovers for tomorrow) Breads?? Where was tge German breads? There's a bakery and we decided to order a $10 Bread plate from the German Bakery.... Big Mistake! NO GERMAN BROCHEN...! (A sin for a Germsn Resteraunt) No Vollkornbrot! No Milchbotchen! No Hornchen! No Pumpernickle! No Sunnenblumenbrot! No Drikornbrot! (Yes Pretzel offered: on the appetizer menu) INSTEAD WE RECIED A SMALL BASKET with a single bite lemon bar (this was good sharing a hslf bite each with wife), a few raisen and sweet bread pieces cut in about 2" square. There was a regeaded spongy croissant (if this was baked it was nuked chewey) and a BISCUIT!!! ALL OF THIS WAS THERE OFFERING IF GERMAN BREAD? YIKES (Bet some yuppy gives it 5 stars) I think th biscuit was suppose to be a scone. (See photo, tased like a Left over McDonalds buttered biscuit without butter snd reheated). All the Bread appeared to have been NUKED to warm them.

It was October fest to which only classical music was played (not German or poka). Was giver a regular menu woth regular prices and the Paper Octoberfest menu with same items MARKED UP! You order from the main menu but get charged Octoberfest HIGHER prices.

Building looks nice, wait staff was dressed in costume. But never saw waiters except to take order and serve food.. had to ask others for items forgotten and chase fown one for my bill.

This place is popular to those not knowing what real German food should be but instead love the German look of building and costumes.. It did feel like an authenic German Gasthause resteraunt/pub.

I imagine the higher ratings are simply those thinking costumes look good so it must be good German food. Added Star from 2STARS to 3 STARS because wife though it was better than a 2 star.

My friends and I have reasonable expectations of a restaurant. We know it's still tough for restaurants to get back to 100% staffing, but that is not an excuse for bad or rude behavior. Note we were seated in the bar area and our service person was the bartender.

We ordered our bevs. Took us asking after over 10 min for a flight of beers to be brought to one member of our party. When our appetizers arrived, the table that was seated out on the patio walked out after never being acknowledged by our server, probably about 20 minutes (they tried). When our main dishes started arriving from the kitchen, we had to ask the food service to man flag our server for refreshes on the mimosas. Mins you, the table behind us, bevs were constantly coming but I realized soon they were friends with the bartender.

The last meal arrived, Shepherd's Pie. It was rather dismal and tiny for a $15 special. There is more to that dish than just beef with mashed potatoes. Disappointment was expressed and management intervention was requested. At the same time, my friend asked if she (server) knew what the ingredients were. Her response with a side of attitude was that she was vegan, didn't eat meat, so she wouldn't know. An offer was made to get something different and words were exchanged (nothing profane) and she walked away. My friend picked up his plate and carried it to the front of the restaurant. He was told by the manager that if he didn't like it, he didn't have to come back.

As disappointed as our dining experience had become, we tried to finish our meal. The server never came back to our table and neither did a manager. The table behind us continued to get her attention. The table beside us waited probably a good 20 minutes for their check. When she brought their check, she apologized very loudly that the delay was due to another table ruining her whole day and that she had another 12 hours to work. More words were exchanged. The table behind us tried to jump in taking her side and finally got up to hang at the bar to commiserate with their friend.

Shortly after that, staff came to the area to clear the tables around us. One of them came to our table offering to clear some plates. I asked if he could expedite our check because I don't think our server is ever coming back. Apparently that switched on a light bulb. He the said that we, as grown men, should be ashamed of ourselves for making the server cry and that we should just leave. We said we still needed to pay and he said he would take care of it and to just get out. Turns out, he was the owner. No asking us for our side or any questions or apologies. Some would say kudos for him sticking up for his employees and others would say kudos making himself look bad along with the image of the restaurant.

So, for the first time in my life, I got kicked out of...

So I visited here twice in the last two days. The first day I went for breakfast at 11am but they had already switched over to lunch. I settled on the Reuben, it was good. Definitely not the “generous” portion of corned beef they state but that’s fine. The restaurant was mildly busy and the waiter, a tall thin middle aged man, seemed in a big hurry to get me out of the restaurant. Meanwhile there were a good 10 tables empty. He dropped the check and told me to check out in the bakery.

The next morning I come for brunch. Different waiter this time. They didn’t have normal breakfast fare on the menu the closest to it is the omelette so I settled again. Food came out quickly and service was good. It was all good until I got up to simply go to the restroom. I was gone no more than three minutes looking forward to sipping my coffee and deciding what I was going to explore that day, to come back and the same tall middle aged waiter from the prior day had instructed the busboy to clear my ENTIRE table!! Gone was what was left of my Bloody Mary, my toast, my water, my coffee. Exasperated I simply asked for the check. No discount for making me feel like they wanted to get me out of there. No they weren’t busy. Nothing. I got an apology from my waiter asking if he could get me anything, what am I going to say???? Seriously at that point even another customer behind me said “Did you seriously take that poor man’s food away?” I was embarrassed. I simply paid my bill even left a tip and walked out. I’m not sure I’ll ever be back. I can tell you one thing I’m not going there alone...

If I could give it zero stars, I would. Unless you’ve eaten here before, DO NOT come here to “try something new” like my husband and I did. To start, the service was great! We were immediately greeted at the door and our server, Micheal, was very awesome and polite. Checked on us and made sure we never went thirsty, he gets 5 stars! Our table was at the back of the restaurant near the windows, we were constantly swatting at flys and nats the entire time. We started with the spinach artichoke dip and we literally took 2 bites out of it and were done. It was not good at all. We hoped our food would be better. I ordered the chicken in wine sauce and my husband ordered the German spicy wings. 🤢 my chicken was so watery and soooo bland, yet the wine sauce made it tangy and it was just a weird experience, not to mention the chopped raw onions that was just sprinkled on top of the chicken with mushrooms, it just wasn’t right. They know they could of seasoned my chicken before cooking it. I literally took one bite of my chicken and was done. And whatever that scrambled potato thing was on the side of my dish tasted like a used dish sponge. Actually if I known what a dish sponge tasted like I’d bet it probably be better than my entire entree. Only taking 2 bites out of the food I had a knot in my stomach the rest of the day and I ended with my head in the toilet for half an hour. My husband didn’t enjoy his wings either, the sauce wasn’t good and they need to not make homemade ranch anymore. Won’t be going back.

Good food, beer, and ambience. We came here after seeing it on the dining option list at the Stone Mountain Inn. When the front desk clerk told us that they brew their beer in house, have fresh baked goods, and authentic German food, we were sold. Came here for late lunch after spending the morning and early afternoon at the park. What a refreshing break! We had 4 in our family. Among us, we had the Sauerbraten, chicken in wine sauce, and German sausage platter for two. For appetizers, we had the spinach artichoke dip. The food were flavorful and hit the spot. Pairing it with house brewed beer just elevated the experience. We even bought a growler of apple cider back to the hotel. On the way out the door, we picked up some dessert for later. Our server was attentive and friendly. My only issue was the price! It's pretty pricey for lunch but I included that as vacation expenses. It's a good thing I do not live near. This is a dangerously good but expensive place. The to go dessert cost us $30+ and there wasn't much to show for. However, I must say, it was good. In all $170+ for lunch, beer, and dessert. Recommendation: Diners - if you don't mind the price, you're in for a treat. Try the sausages, they were so good. I had some really good sausages in Munich and Dusseldorf last year, this place brought me back there. Owner - time to update the price posted on Google. It's not reflecting current menu pricing.
