Never judge a book by it's cover. We went to the Farmhouse today, arrived about 3pm on a Friday and were seated right away. Initially we were headed to Floods but decided to give this place a try. What a mistake. Positives: it's adorable inside. And that's the end of the positives. We ordered the cauliflower/broccoli basket and shrimp cocktail for starters. Shrimp was tough, dried out, definitely not fresh. Dinner selections were the Amish chicken, mashed potatoes and "market veggies" and the Black Angus petite filet with grilled onions, also with mashed potatoes and "market veggies." Steak was ordered medium, came out raw and got sent back as it was inedible. Market veggies consisted of something resembling asparagus but was more like crunchy, tasteless shoelaces. When the steak came back it was unrecognizable, completely black and hard as a rock on one side. My knife couldn't get through it, no grilled onions either. I called the waitress over and asked, "doesn't this come with grilled onions?" She said, "no, it comes with creamed corn but we don't serve creamed corn so I don't know why it's on the menu" and walked away. I called her over again and asked to see the menu. That's when she realized it did come with grilled onions and she went to get them. Knowing I'd be hacking away at this steak for awhile, I'd have a few minutes to wait for the onions. 15 minutes later, most of the steak choked down, the onions came out. Thanks but, too little, too late. Alarm bells went off when I tasted the mashed potatoes (hard to screw those up right? Wrong.) They had the distinctly unpleasant taste of rancid butter. I believe I'll be paying the price for the couple of forkfuls I tried later tonight. A French style farm restaurant and no bread?? So we ordered the cornbread. Now, I make Jiffy cornbread all the time and I've tasted some from the grocery store. There was nothing special about this cornbread, it was tasteless and looked like grocery store cornbread. It costs about .75 a box to make a pan full. For $8.00, we got 3 teensy slivers with a cup of, and I kid you not, pink strawberry butter or something like butter, that reminded me of powdered Nestle strawberry milk mix. The poor little things looked lost on the giant rectangular plate it was served on. Talk about pretentious! And if all that wasn't enough, we literally battled with a bevy of fruit flies, in our faces, trying to land on our food, the entire meal. It was too much and I asked the waitress, what in the world is going on with all the fruit flies? She rolled her eyes and said, I know, it's terrible, they must come in whenever the door is opened. Yes, possibly, but they prefer to hang out with old food and lay their eggs on fermenting, rotting produce and other nasty things so I'd lean more towards they were coming from the kitchen. There was just way too many of them and we were seated towards the back where the kitchen is. Too many things going wrong with this restaurant. My advice: get management in there asap, clean up that kitchen and get rid of the bugs, definitely hire a chef that knows how to cook, take proper care of temperature sensitive ingredients like butter, train your waitstaff on the menu and how to respond to the customers. I did a little shopping in neighboring stores after this "meal" and asked salespeople what they thought of the place. I was pretty shocked at their responses. All unanimously said they went once, food was blah, over priced and recommended another restaurant to me. They weren't going back for...
ย ย ย Read moreOur server Tristan was such a sweetheart! Absolutely loved her vibe and personality and she had the cutest nails too! I think itโs so important to see someone who puts effort into their appearance for work. She was also super helpful and well informed on the menu, even offering drink recommendations when they were out of ginger beer for the Purple Rain. We sat at the bar so I love that she let us pick out our little umbrellas for our drinks! 10/10 service!
Always love the food and drinks and the atmosphere is amazing. We went on a Monday night so it wasnโt busy, lots of seating options. The food was quick and tasted great. Love the truffle fries and mimosa flight, honestly all of their cocktails are genuinely so good and I think itโs super cute that theyโre named after popular songs! The cocktails tasted so good and I LOVED their Bloody Mary, I added pictures because the glass was just so cute. I forgot to take a picture of my food but it was delicious! The fried chicken was cooked perfectly and the sides were the best combination! Highly recommend! 10/10 food and drinks!
If youโre going to order food and a few drinks expect to spend around $50 per person, 100% it by the way. The best brunch spot in Stroudsburg by far! Had to leave a review because I know his location is a little newer and I want everyone to try it out! Perfect for a date night or a brunch!
It was my first time at this specific location, I usually go to the location on Crystal Street, but Iโll 100% be back here just for our server Tristan! Canโt wait...
ย ย ย Read moreCool atmosphere. That's about all that's cool about this place.
My husband and I are coming here for a 10 year anniversary. I order cocktail. And waitress, who was also forced to be the bartender, didn't have the fresh ingredients to make my drink (Blueberries and jalapeรฑo) about, made it for me anyway. It was OK, but now what I wanted... Clearly, the waitress is being spread to thin.
We ordered the fried cauliflower broccoli that was actually delicious. I ordered the shrimp and grits. It took forever to come out and when it came out, it was cold. I sent it back. When it came back and was finally came and was hot. The grits were runny and tasteless! Big bummer I was totally in the mood and the dish sounded delicious. They were not all like the description. My hubs Ordered a salmon Wellington. Which came out overdone. It has mashed potatoes and cold. The dish supposedly came with Roasted Brussels sprouts. But instead came with asparagus ((My husband hates). So he asked if he could get the sprouts. When they finally came out They were not roasted at all they were steamed and mushy. Gross.
My son got the mac n cheese- of course he liked it. But they didn't have a kids so we ended up paying almost $20 for a bowl of mac & cheese. Ridiculous. I make better mac & cheese at home...
We end up going to cheap eats across the street to a Tex-Mex place, which was delicious. They had all the ingredients for the drinks we wanted and the food was hot...
