First off , I have never in my adult life had to leave a negative review of any business I’ve engaged with. I brought a new print , and an existing custom frame to be worked on to Dennis . All that was needed was a matte black border , and a new backing . I came back to pick it up and there was a white inner edge on the entire border , which completely negated the entire purpose of requesting a matte black border for a darkly colored photograph, creating a distraction from the image , and an obvious eye sore. I was cordial , but expressed my dissatisfaction . Which was met with excuses and unnecessary comments , then needing to order another border which he didn’t have in house . Then his solution was to take a sharpie and color in the issue . Not what I wanted but I said let’s see how it looks as I was also pressed for time . I returned again , and while it had been drizzling the day before when I picked up the first attempt , I immediately noticed the entire glass front was covered in streaks and smudges , which I was sure he would clean up before allowing it to leave his store . That did not happen , and he commented he was out of paper towels . Not a microfiber cloth , in an art gallery with custom framing , but paper towels mind you. I resigned to the fact that this was not someone who took pride in their work or the art of hospitality , and would clean it up at home . Once home , I prepared to hang it and put on high lights , which I immediately noticed the image seemed uneven. Sure enough I measured the border and the bottom left was shorter than the bottom right. . I even tried to make it work , as I generally have low amber lighting in the room it was featured , but it was just too noticeable and distracting from the image I was so excited to frame . I called the next morning and was immediately met with negativity , denial , and accusations. Dennis did not allow me to get a word in , went on a tangent and hung up on me when I requested a refund . The fact that he displayed zero professionalism or accountability , and chose to ignore the facts that it was unacceptable work quality , then resort to accusing me of attempting to scam him out of not paying for that unacceptable work speaks volumes. It’s only $100 , it’s not about the money to me . It’s principle , I would never conduct myself as such , and nothing I work on would ever leave my place of business unless the client / customer was absolutely satisfied. It would leave flawless and ready to be displayed . His mentality , and attitude is not even focused on a single quality job , much less creating professional relationships that inspire long term business success. It’s a choice to be better , and he chose immaturity and lack of ethics instead. I am someone who goes out of his way to support small businesses , and when the quality of the work is exceptional I make the effort to promote those businesses. He chose to blame , dismiss , and accuse of alterior motives , rather than do the right thing. If you are seeking to have a quality piece of art properly framed , I strongly suggest you look elsewhere. It is not worth the stress , and there are still people who strive to do quality work , which leads to return business and referrals for a job well done. I will now order a new print from the artist as this one has been compromised , and find a proper framing service to...
Read moreThe gallery itself is nice. I was hoping to just walk through in peace and admire the pieces, but as soon as we met the artist, the experience rapidly downgraded. the artist, was rude and extremely pushy about sales and made my friend and I both very uncomfortable. Honestly he was pretentious and kind of creepy. I would not visit this gallery again. The experience left a very bad taste in my mouth and I dread walking past it and possibly having to talk to him again. He also essentially screamed at me for trying to take photos, and talked down to me like a child. And going off of the other reviews it seems to be a pattern of behavior. It’s easy to politely tell someone they can’t do something instead of scolding them like a child after...
Read moreThe gallery is beautiful. But it's not a gallery that makes impression, but owners as well. When you come to a gallery, you expect to have joyful walk through art and possible talk to an artist about his artwork. But here, when I was trying to talk to artists son, he did nothing but asking me to buy. He didn't show any interest in conversation. So made me feel like walking wallet, so I left. Not a...
