When opened our plates and sat down to eat within minutes of arrival, we noticed that the lettuce was brown, the oysters were spoiled and rancid and the tuna was hard as a 🧱 brick! My husband and I are fairly new to this area as retired Army Veterans and well traveled. We have supported and frequented this small restaurant business for approximately a year since moving here. The food is generally ok, when cooking at home isn’t an option. To their credit, our past orders have been acceptable with the exception of one other time that our order was sub-par and they did replace it. On Friday, we ordered 2 blackened tuna salads and 2 oyster salads. We used Door Dash and they arrived on time as the tracker predicted. When opened our plates and sat down to eat within minutes of arrival, we noticed that the lettuce was brown, the oysters were spoiled and rancid and the tuna was hard as a 🧱 brick! Due to a recent surgery, and much going on in the moment, we opted to trash it and eat some soup and crackers instead for the evening. I took pictures, so that when I was ready to address it with the manager/owner, they could audit their kitchen, being fully aware of the quality of their current stock. My husband called them on Sunday, to speak with the owner and Katrina suggested that we speak with Mike on Monday. We did, and here’s where a simple apology, and an order rectify, went completely down hill and off the rails. Mike was condescending, hostile and entitled to be right in his tone on the phone, blamed Door Dash, even though they were on time, said that they have a lettuce shortage, implying that rotten lettuce was ok to sell, blamed the rancid, rotten oysters on a delayed shipment, implying that rotten ones are ok to sell when fresh isn’t in their stock, blamed the rock, brick hard tuna on us even tho we always order medium rare and topped his act off by yelling at us over the phone when we didn’t allow him to disrespect us verbally. He didn’t want to return our money, told us to take that one up with door dash, said he would remake the order and insisted that we eat oysters again from his kitchen. We declined and asked for a replacement fish, to feel somewhat vindicated. Hesitantly he agreed after finally understanding his risk and liability and our desire to not get food poisoning from his kitchen. My husband picked up the replacement order and he MIKE was as disorderly in person also, yelling, boisterous, tantrum filled… We threw the replacement order in the trash because, judging by his hostile, entitled demeanor, we don’t trust his intentions with preparing anything for us to eat. We Won’t EVER Order From Barons Again. And all referrals are retracted.

We walk in and seat ourselves. It got very busy about 30 minutes after we arrived so we expected service to be slow. We got the fried pickles for an appetizer and they were good. My wife got the BLT with a cup of the soup of the day (tomatoe bisque) and I got the cowboy burger with fries. The bisque was good and my wife said her BLT was also good. The fries are hand cut/homemade so that was really nice. My burger was very dry but otherwise fine. All in all not a terrible experience. I say that last sentence with an ending note. We walk in and get smacked in the face by this musty, moldy cat piss smell. It was very overwhelming. It was less so when we walked up to the bar area where we sat, but still very prevalent. We debated just leaving, but we stuck it out because we wanted to try the place. Idk what it is, but it smells awful in there. Idk how people handle it.

My husband has been begging me to try this place for years, so, we went for his birthday a few days ago. The seating selection was pretty difficult for a family of five, but that wasn’t a huge deal. We ordered our dinner and it took a really long time to come. Once it did, my husband had to wait even longer for his. When his steak finally came, it was very overcooked. By this time, the kids were fussy and I was running late to work. We let the staff know that the steak was well done (he asked for medium rare), they offered to remake it, but since I was running late to work we just didn’t have time. He was super disappointed in his birthday dinner. I tried everyone at the tables food and most of it was pretty decent. I wasn’t particularly impressed, but maybe if we went back sometime we’d have a different perspective.

Underwhelming is the nicest way to put our experience. We had a party of 4 and came here to grab a bite to eat on my daughter's birthday. When we walked in we were not greeted. One person in our party is a toddler so after standing for a few in this establishment that was about 1/5 full of people, we just found a table and sat down. Still no greeting, so I walked up to the bar and asked for a server. Cooper came over. He was kind and the reason for one star when I'd have preferred to give zero. We ordered 5 meals (I got two different dishes of shrimp, one fried and one blackened) when the blackened came out, it was nearly clear and bland, so I asked if I could have a bit more seasoning. As it was being prepared I started on the fried shrimp. When the blackened came back I ate 3 pieces before I noticed what looked like a blonde hair coming from underneath and sticking out of one of the shrimp. I brought this to Coopers attention and when I tried to pull what I thought was a 3 inch piece of hair out, a long strand came unraveled from the shrimp, right in front of Cooper and covered in the blackened seasoning.. this was repulsive. Cooper took the remainder of the dish away, and I asked for the check. When he returned I noticed the meal was still on the receipt so I asked about that. He stated that the employee who's hair that matched what was in my dish left earlier and wasn't in the kitchen right now, and the guy in the kitchen has short black hair. Cooper did state that he believes she was helping out earlier and she may have handled something from the kitchen, then he said the policy was if you eat it you pay for it. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! He said he thinks it's silly but he can't make the call and the manager was not there, so he asked the person who cooked the dish to remove the meal, and came back to tell me he wouldn't do it. Cooper did state that he would pay for that meal out of his pocket and they would take it from his check at 50% off because that's the only way for me not to be charged for a meal with their employees hair in it. I feel I tried to resolve this with the establishment to no avail, so here is my unfiltered review. I can never recommend this...

8 of us arrive at 8pm. The crowd is fairly small as its Sunday (18th May). She took our order for drinks and food since we all were ordering sandwiches. I was the only one ordering a beer (pitcher). The soft drinks came about ten minutes later. I didn't received my beer as I saw it sitting on the bar counter till 820. I did see the waitress take not one but two other customers orders before I had to contact her about my pitcher sitting there on the bar... she then went and got the new orders drinks and then went and got mine.

9pm.. food still hasn't arrived although the waitress did keep checking in on the others drinks. She never asked if I would like a new frosted mug.

915 food arrives. The fries were cold, three of us ordered the French Dip and the au jus was cold. I specifically asked for my fries to be really crispy...they weren't. I did get a new frosted mug as I had to request it.

The Pro's of the meal Good price She was polite Clean The did get the food order correct.

The Negatives Waitress needs more training. Its not her fault if the food is cooked wrong or bad... it is her fault if its cold.

More attentiveness to the customers by the other staff.

No reason for taking one hour to serve eight sandwiches!.

Would I recommend this to some one. I will hold my opinion on that until I go back and see if there's any improvement. Ironically most restaurants do not read their own reviews and that is probably why this waitress...
