My wife and I really wanted to like this place since this side of Sugar Land does not have many options for boba and milk tea. However, I have deep concerns about management and food safety after our separate visits on 26June and today.
On the 26June visit, my wife and her friends were interested in buying the macarons but had questions about the flavors. The young people working that evening had no interest in answering their questions despite her insisting they wanted to buy some. They tried to pass off her questions until someone else stepped in to help. It didn't sit well that it would be so difficult to answer and sell their food but she brushed it off as the employees being new and shy.
Today, I arrived in the early afternoon. It was very busy and there was a long line but drinks came quickly. I used to work in food service and I noticed there was an individual who was making drinks with no hair pulled back or any hair covering and was constantly touching her face and hair (I understand the temptation to wipe away sweat or scratch an itch during a busy shift but you have to ignore it). I tried to speak to a manager to notify (in case they weren't aware) but no one I spoke to could understand English fluently. After I received my drinks and had driven away, I realized my milk tea was completely hot on the bottom and cold on the top. It had not been mixed at all and did not taste good. I've ordered black milk tea all across the city, so I have a baseline of what it should taste like, and this was off the mark.
This place just opened, so I understand if there are kinks to work out, but I cannot recommend anyone go for at least next few months until hopefully they resolve...
Read moreI've visited Feng Cha a handful of times and they're usually pretty bustling.
They have solid drinks and nice tea blends and a neat little reward system in that that give you 5% off if you wash your cup and bring it back to reuse on your next order. It's a nice little incentive to encourage recycling.
My usual go to is the commonly known, Dirty Boba. It's a drink that consists of either milk or milk tea, brown sugar, and tapioca in a creme brulee style. If I'm feeling a little fancy, I'll pair it with a little Sea Salt mini dessert.
As far as service goes, the employees are really good about working quick, getting orders right, and handling the normally busy store front.
As far as atmosphere, it leans into the modern Teahouse cafe aesthetic. It has white walls and light grey trimmings which lead to an open and relaxing kind of atmosphere and they big front window let's in a lot of natural light. Definitely cozy. The only downside is the slight neglect to areas like the walls and trimming details where there are a lot of foot traffic. Since the walls are white, they pick up and show a lot of the grime from people passing by and touching and some of the trimming at the counter is broken or missing which kind of breaks the otherwise cozy vibe they're going for. Other than those minor nitpicks, it's a nice place to grab some friends, play some board games, and chill (provided you can find a table).
Overall, it's a nice place with nice drinks. It's worth it to add to your list of cozy cafe...
Read moreLet me start by saying, if you've ever wondered what it feels like to have a cloud made of tapioca pearls gently caress your taste buds, look no further than Feng Cha in Sugarland. This place is not just a boba tea shop; it's a Boba Universe!
First off, their boba is like tiny, chewy nuggets of joy. It's like playing a game of "how many tapioca pearls can I fit in my mouth at once" without being judged (trust me, I've tested this).
Now, onto the drinks. They've got more flavor combinations than a kid in a candy store who just won the lottery. From classic milk teas to avant-garde fruit teas, each sip is a journey through a flavor wonderland. Want something refreshing? Try their Fruit Fantasy series. Feeling adventurous? Their Signature Series will make you question everything you thought you knew about boba tea.
And let's talk about the atmosphere. It's like they took Pinterest, Instagram, and your wildest dreams, and blended them into one aesthetically pleasing hangout spot. The decor is so cute, even the walls are blushing.
Service? Impeccable. The staff is as bubbly as the pearls in their drinks, always ready with a smile and a suggestion for your next boba adventure.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a place to sip, slurp, and savor the finest boba this side of the Milky Way, Feng Cha in Sugarland is your destination. Just be warned: once you go Feng Cha, you may never look at other boba the...
