The food quality at this place is not up to par with a traditional sushi restaurant. The sushi rolls are not as fresh and lack the delicate flavors that are usually expected. However, the restaurant makes up for it with its innovative concept of a rotating and self-service mode. This unique dining experience allows you to choose from a variety of sushi rolls as they pass by on a conveyor belt, giving you the freedom to pick and choose what you like. The service at the restaurant is decent, although it may not be as attentive as you would expect. To get the attention of the staff, you need to press the service button located on your table. Once you do, a staff member will come over to assist you. While this may be slightly inconvenient, it does add to the overall efficiency of the restaurant. One of the highlights of dining at this place is the use of robots for service. These robots are responsible for delivering your orders to your table. They navigate through the restaurant with ease, ensuring that your food arrives quickly and efficiently. This not only adds a unique touch to the dining experience but also saves time and allows the staff to focus on other tasks. In addition to the sushi rolls, the restaurant also offers a variety of desserts. One of the most creative aspects of the desserts is the incorporation of cartoon characters like SPY. These desserts are not only visually appealing but also delicious, making them a hit among both kids and adults. Overall, while the food quality may not be on par with a traditional sushi restaurant, the innovative concept, efficient service, and creative desserts make dining at this place a fun and enjoyable experience. It's a great choice for a casual gathering with friends or family, where you can enjoy a unique dining experience and indulge in tasty sushi rolls and desserts.

Not a bad sushi place. First impression was the cleanliness and the rotating sushi bar (obviously). Just like in Japan in some places. Orders are done via a screen beside your desk. The waiter explains to you how you can order. You can order via iPad or pick up plates off the revolving wheel, which detects what you pick up onto your tab. Paper menus are also on the side by the iPad. The menus have detailed descriptions before you order, so be sure to read before you order! My best friend accidentally ordered me shrimp and I am allergic! I looked at the plate and then read the ingredient list from the order. Luckily she can eat shrimp so she took the plate away from me. My favorite dishes were the spicy, crunchy salmon taco roll in seaweed and the Hokkaido egg dessert. To explain, the egg dessert is: a tart shell but a flan middle, custard and melted sugar topping. It's actually good. We also got the Japanese donuts with ice cream and Japanese sugar syrup. The donut has a consistency of a Chinese youtiao, or fried dough. It is not very tasty by itself, hence the ice cream and syrup making the donut tasty. But the salmon taco: I like its crunchiness, and it also has minced salmon inside too with hot sauce (although it is not hot at all). I would recommend this place for the experience. Food seems authentic enough (unless you come from Japan or lived in Japan for a substantial time). Get the deserts. But remember: in sushi bars you CAN spend a lot of money fast ordering. I don't find the place something I go crazy about and tell all my friends. I've eaten food like this before around the US. But I would still say, you got a chance give this place a try.

I had never been here but my husband had been to the other location on Westheimer. There's an app for you to reserve your spot in line and when we pulled up we were still second in line, so we ducked into the 85C next door. But then when we walked in, there were at least four clean tables available. Not sure if it's just a funky app or if they pad their wait times to look busy. SERVICE: When we sat down, the waitress seemed awkwardly reluctant to explain to me how it worked, and even asked my husband if he wanted to explain it to me instead, but she ended up giving a good explanation/intro anyway. We ordered most of the things of the touchscreen instead of taking it off the belt just because we're impatient. The food came out quickly. My water did go empty several times, and we had to call them to refill it. And when I pointed out that their uni tasted strange, they took it off our bill without hesitation. FOOD: We liked most everything. We loved the seared flounder fin the most! And the seared salmon with Japanese mayo. I want to go back and try the noodle dishes. They looked good. The mochi ice cream was excellent. Didn't care for the baked eel with avocado because the avocado tasted like it was previously frozen. Also, uni is one of my favorite things to get and the uni at Kura was super cold, and tasted like it was spoiled. OVERALL: I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could. I'd probably go back but I'm in no rush to do so. We left full and satisfied.

Long post ahead about staff and food.

Staff: Our experience was very awkward. We walked in and you have to wait to be seated. We didn't see any waiter around and waited a bit to get seated. In the meantime another couple walks in behind us and we're a big family and there was no where got us to move to bc we were waiting by the door. So eventually the waitress comes out of the back and walks us to a table, realizes someone is sitting there, and walks us to the other side. We walk by the couple at the door who came in after us and she notices them and i guess she thought they came in before us because she was about to sit them before sitting us. They said they came in after us and she said "oh ok i was confused" (which is something she said A LOT).From then on our interactions with the waitress were weird. She sat us down and asked us if we had been there before. We explained we hadn't and she said paused a couple of seconds and said "umm ok i will be right back". During the time she was away we realized some area of the table was sticky so when she came back we asked her if she could just wipe it down again. That question very much confused her. She asked why and i told her and she said she can't because it's a whole process (she would have to sanitize it and do extra steps) but she said we could sit at the next one and she assured us she cleaned the table next to us and the one next to that one (never assuring us she cleaned ours.. ). I asked my family if they wanted to move and they said ok and then she stopped us and said we couldn't... I don't know why we couldn't even though she offered it. We ended up staying there without her wiping down the table (which we did ask again if she could do after she told us we couldn't move). The whole time we had any interaction with her she keeps pausing, staring, and says "umm i'm confused, oh no wait." It was just weird. This really turned us off to the whole experience. No, I don't think she was new. She knew what she was saying she was maybe having an off day? We called her back once for a refill and again asking her for a refill was like asking her to figure out some algebraic equation. She stared and just paused. Eventually we told her what we had to drink (maybe she didn't remember). Suffice to say it def confused us and did not give a good impression.

Food: The food was just ok. It didn't taste fresh (prob because it stays out for a while on the conveyor belt which i knew coming in there what to expect). I saw another review that said the food taste like HEB sushi. IT DOES! Nothing special about it. A lot of the sushi was lacking in taste. The rice in the sushi was mushy and falling apart. Some things taste better than others. All portions of food are small so being a big family we ordered a lot. We weren't impressed by the food at all.

Final thought: Would I go back? No. The food was not good enough to make me overlook the very weird interactions with the waitress. You can def find a better revolving sushi place in Houston with better staff and better, fresher food. We should have just gone to Jinya across the...

Let me explain. This was our first visit, i finally talked my wife into going. Midafternoon on a Saturday, yes they were busy and there was a wait. Was excited to see an automated check in terminal, you input your info and you get a text confirmation. The terminal said it was up to a 10 min wait for a table. ok, cool. After waiting for a period of time and seeing several empty tables that needed cleaned, I checked the app to see where we were on the list. However, I had to step outside and away from the bldg to get a signal. The app did not work very well, so I went back in and eventually asked the staff for status and was told "oh yeah the system doesn't work very well. ok, I explained there were dirty tables and the counter seating was empty. They did react quickly and started bussing the tables and seating people. We did get a table about 25 to 30 min into our approximate 10 min wait. The young lady explained how everything worked and took our drink order. A cool robot brought our drinks and we started watching the conveyor for anything we might like. Although there was a pretty good variety, more than half the plates were empty. We did figure out you can order from the automated menu as well. This part was really cool, it zooms to your table on a separate conveyor. The food looked fresh and was honestly really good. It was fun watching for things as they went around, we both tried stuff we wouldn't normally have eaten. The prices seemed reasonable, although the drinks (diet coke) were almost 4 bucks each? crazy. Two people, two drinks and about 15 to 18 plates between us we got out of there around 80.00. The overall restaurant seemed clean but don't look under the table or at the conveyor to closely. It is such a cool overall experience and we will go back at some point. Hopefully, they can work out whatever bugs they have and smooth out the...
