Pho Tan Loc Sugar Land — Restaurant in Sugar Land

Great food, food is freshly made and you get your monies worth. We had many choices of places to eat as we were passing through on our way to Buda, Tx. As a Marine Corps veteran and Viet Nam veteran I recalled the food I ate in Da Nang and villages during my tour and how hungry I was at that particular time that we saw the restaurant, I asked my wife to pull over and we quickly agreed to eat at Pho Tan Loc.

The menu is extensive, but you won't be disappointed the food is excellent no matter what you order!!! It took me back fifty (50) years when I had just turned eighteen (18) years old in Vietnam, but the great service and food helped me turn a dark page in my memory to a joyous and blessed day finding comfort in the food, peace in my heart and the Lord granted my soul solace.

Amazing what a small restaurant can reap...a huge reward with man's basic need: FOOD !!!

Ever since my other pho spot in Sugar Land went down hill I decided to venture out to Pho Tan Loc.

First off, the pricing and menu. Wow this is def lower than majority of the places I usually go to. It’s very hard to find banh mi for $5.25 now since most places are around $6+ now let alone $10.95 for pho (large). Also a bonus that they have a lunch combo for $13 which includes appetizer, entree, drink!

Second the food. I ordered the lunch combo for $13. Got the egg roll and the pho (choose 4 meats) and an ice tea. The egg roll was decent and the pho was good but I prefer for it to have a little bit more stronger flavor. Nonetheless it wasn’t bad. My boyfriend got the bun bo hue and he said it’s decent, not very salty so he had to add some shrimp paste to his liking. I think the only comment he had was that he didn’t like that they didn’t give pork feet and just gave a slice of pork instead.

I will never eat there again as a chef for large corp company I never allowed service like them For one all of the table condiments were so dirty looked like they were never wiped Second the kitchen door was open and where can I start let me just say health inspection need to visit them Third the young server girl seems very unhappy I asked for limes no thank you or is there anything else I could get you Nothing she needs major customer service skills Fourth my wife ordered hot tea and it was full of tea leaves which a tea strainer would be nice but older lady said there none you drink it that way Last a little clean tea pot hit Over all they need Major cleaning and the kitchen is the first to start with

Our meal was okay chicken and rice seemed like the chicken was cooked already just heat it up and serve
