My husband and I took our four children out to dinner on last night. We hadn’t been to IHOP in a while as a family and we had been receiving emails advertising “kids eat free”, so we figured why not. We arrived at IHOP and they sat us at a booth (6 of us), the booth was disgusting and my children were uncomfortable, so we asked to sit at a table. It took a while for our food to come and my daughters meal did not arrive until 5 minutes after everyone else got their food. The place wasn’t too busy at all, so I wasn’t sure why the food took so long! There was another family of 6 sitting not too far from us and I noticed she had an issue with her bill. Her waitress said, “let me get the manager “‘ the manager goes over, they say a few words, the manager apologized and took the receipt to make the adjustments, they pay and the family leaves. The manager then goes up front and says to the waitress, “this sign needs to be right here, right here, so people can see it” I wasn’t sure what she was talking about. 10 minutes later we receive our bill and the children’s meals weren’t taken off, so my husband informs our waitress and she says, “that’s only on Friday, kids eat free”. My husband says fine, I inform him that the website says otherwise. I saw the manager and I said, “there’s the manager, you can talk to her”. He goes over to have a convo with her to show her the receipt and website, she immediately raises her voice and says to him, “you need to call corporate!” So he says, “well it’s on your website, so how do you not honor it?” She says y’all, “take it up with corporate “ in front of the few people that were there and our children. I then go over and assure her that we can afford to pay, but that something needed to be done about the website, she then says “no HONEY, we don’t control the website, take it up with corporate”. This had been happening with other families as well” , she says! “Take it up with Corporate!” My husband then asks for the number, she tells us “it’s on the website HONEY!” My husband hands over his card and we’re waiting for our receipt, I then start to put things together. The manager LINDA, had just taken the receipt from the other family of 6 ( Caucasian family) adjusted their receipt and apologized. When we went to her she yells “take it up with corporate!” She was outside on the phone and she walked back inside, so I asked her what the issue was and why she didn’t have an issue adjusting the receipt for the other family ( which happened to be Caucasian) but when it came to ours she was quick to write us off and tell us to take it up with corporate. She claimed she was going to explain, she never did and she walked away from me. I asked to speak with another manager, a waitress attempted to go get one and as Linda is walking away she’s yelling “ I’m getting her right now!” The other manager comes out to talk to me, she was extremely nice, all the while Linda is standing there at the register listening, I then proceeded to ask the other manager, where was the fairness in the situation. She gave the Caucasian family the adjustments and even apologized for the inconvenience! But when it came to my family, it was like pay it and take it up with corporate. She agreed, she said she would talk to Linda about the situation, but honestly I’m going to talk to someone higher up! I have never been racially discriminated against ever!! For this to happen and to happen in front of my children was not ok!! They were all upset about the situation and had mixed feelings (fear, anger, sadness etc). My children 14, 12, 9, and 7, they understood what was happening. I will be calling corporate, speaking with the general manager, district manager and whoever else!! I will not be returning!! If I get nowhere with general management, I will be contacting local news and sharing my story. Enough is enough, I’m doing this for my children, they will never see something like that happen and think “mom and dad...
Read moreWas absolutely flabbergasted…I’ve been the executive chef and kitchen manager at Benihana fashion mall Las Vegas for over 11 years. Along with numerous other fine dining restaurants. On June 6th my family and I came in to eat. I ordered chicken tenders and fries (menu says it comes with 5) i receive a plate with 4 cold chicken tenders and a portion of fries matching my sons kids menu side of fries. Server tells me they are making more fries, at this point I don’t know wether to get up and walk in the kitchen myself or get up and walk out. I send the food back because my chicken tenders were almost iced in the center. I then ordered the Philly cheesesteak stacker. I believe the server was under the influence of narcotics, not only did she not apologize she then brings me strawberry cheesecake pancakes. She then proceeds to tell me this is what I said I wanted I’m guessing she was so high she didn’t hear me ask for a Philly cheesesteak stacker. So I ended up not eating anything at all she didn’t not once apologize or try and compensate for any of the issues this place is a joke dirty old Waffle House is better then this ihop you someone needs to teach this place how to run a restaurant and get rid of the home cooks in the kitchen and hire some real chefs that have standards when it comes to food quality and take pride not some severs and kitchen staff they found off Craigslist I’ll be sure to share this review in yelp and Facebook and never return to this pathetic...
Read moreWe should have left once it was clear that we were "inconveniencing" the servers to break up their gossip gaggle to seat us. Once we were seated, our server took our order and the manager and what appeared to be her boyfriend sat in a booth nearby. We arrived at 6:48 & our food was not on the table before 7:35. The manager sat and flirted for nearly 35 minutes before realizing not a single dish was leaving the kitchen. She then went back to "instruct" the kitchen how to manage tickets, loud enough for everyone to hear, then left the kitchen. We finally received our food which tasted like it had been prepared during the lunch shift and served during dinner. It was cold, the cheese tasted like it was left out uncovered in a refrigerator, the fruit cup was less than fresh with tough scraps of pineapple, melon and grapes. Mid-meal, the manager returned to the kitchen to assist in expediting...her own food. She never came to the table to check in, nor did she or her boyfriend take customer service seriously. Her boyfriend was served to go cups of ice tea with numerous lemons and joked with the gossiping servers about the lack of service. The entire meal, the servers congregated, the kitchen slacked, the manager flirted and the customers were left to suffer. This usually is where we go after church, whether it be for breakfast or dinner, but we will be patronizing other...
