Kanji Sushi Hibachi - Summerville — Restaurant in Summerville

I am allergic to pepper (cracked pepper is even worse) so every time my family has placed an order (and we have placed many for, at least five meals, each time) they always request (and reiterate) no pepper, no sesame seeds and only zucchini for my meal. Unfortunately, I have never received my meal without issues, and it is usually doused in black pepper. Today, my oldest son placed a large order for our family and requested that the lady who took the order repeat it back to him multiple times to ensure my meal was correct, so he felt confident that it would be perfect. Well, it was, yet again, wrong. I looked at the receipt and the only thing mentioned for my meal was "only zucchini" - nothing about no pepper (it also took longer than it should have to be delivered - they are ~5 miles from my home - and the food was tepid, at best, which stinks). So, I spent 30 minutes scraping the pepper off of every piece of steak and zucchini so that I could eat it. Of course, by the time I was finished, the entire meal was cold, so I just put it in the fridge to eat later (I was looking forward to eating it while it was still warm but that didn't happen). In addition to the issues with my meal, I noticed that all of the meals had less than half as much rice as they used to provide (and the order was placed hours prior to closing, so no legitimate reason for the smaller portions). My family and I have been looking forward to trying this place for a while and it was a big disappointment. For one it was overpriced. We don't mind paying more for great tasting and quality food but this was far from it. The servings of rice in the bowls was decent but the joke is you get 6 to 8 pieces of chicken and like 8 pieces of steak in each bowl. The chicken seems to be some premade chicken nugget type chicken pieces that are just tossed in sauce and thrown onto the rice. No actual chicken. They were honestly like the consistency of McDonald's nuggets inside just more round. So yeah that's what the "chicken" in the bowls was like. The steak disgusting. We had to finish cooking the steak because was not fully cooked. Which that defeats the purpose of getting dinner and not having to cook. The order of crab wontons they tasted ok but nothing spectacular about them. Didn't seem fully warm inside and kinda on small side. Overall not a good experience. So basically you pay more for less food and mediocre at best quality of food. Wish we had ordered from another place on the other side of town. Would have been same price we paid tonight and excellent quality food with double the amount of food. Our mistake for wanting to try a new place that was closer to us. We will NEVER get food there again. If I could give less than 1 star I...

I used to love this place, but it has certainly gone downhill from the 1st time I’ve tried it as far as food quality and service. The dynamite roll was extremely mushy and drowned in eel sauce. I used to recommend this place to friends and coworkers but never again. The customer service is extremely terrible. I ordered delivery and part of my order was wrong and the woman who answered the phone acted like I was lying about it. In fact she started arguing with me saying that it was impossible that we got shrimp udon instead of the beef udon because there were no other orders for shrimp…and all I wanted was the correct dish. They ended up bringing the correct dish late and wasn’t able to eat together as a family. I left the incorrect one on the porch because they wanted it back. This is the 2nd time one of the employees argued with me about something wrong one their end. I gave this place another chance, but...
