As soon as I walked into chick and tea I was instantly greeted by the cashier. The first thing I noticed was that unlike many other places they don't have a menu posted on a board, instead they chose to have their menus on individual plastic cards. It removes the visual distraction of a giant menu board but if you're a germaphobe, like myself, you can only wonder how often they clean these menus everyone touches.
I decided on ordering a mojito, some vegetarian spring rolls, and a grilled king oyster mushroom. The food was brought out to me in a timely matter and they offered both forks and chopsticks! To my delight, I found they serve the drinks without straws. I was a bit surprised that the eggrolls were served without sweet and sour sauce. The grilled king oyster mushroom was delicious, personally I would've added a bit of salt to it, however that would be my only remark on it. Other than that it was chewy, warm, and amazing. The 'mojito' was a very light and refreshing drink, if not a bit on the sweet side. Excellent for sipping on a hot summer day (or fall in my case).
Overall a solid choice for a bite to eat, about average as far as boba goes. Just please make your condiments more...
Read moreAuthentic Taiwanese deep fried goodness and bubble tea. It was so good, I went back within a week! The fried chicken was crunchy on outside and juicy on the inside. The flavor was just right. The boba is chewy and made correctly with brown sugar added to the boba (a lot of places miss this). They have a salted cream topper that’s just like the Happy Lemon salted cheese drinks. The drawback is the fried squid is not as pictured, and the diced pork topper on top of bento rice is just minced pork (also not as pictured). But bonus star added back in for the use of paper + mineral straw. Saving the environment from another plastic straw (that is inevitable with bubble tea). Sorry the food was so good I forgot to take...
Read moreGreat new place for Taiwanese fried chicken and boba tea that just opened. We tried the fried chicken steak bento (g-pie) and the salt/pepper chicken bento, both were delicious. The fry is excellent and portion is huge. We both ended up with 1/3 to 1/2 leftover to go. Even the green bean side dish tasted like they put a lot of care into it. The meat sauce over the rice is tasty as well.
Also tried the yogurt black tea (less sugar regular ice), tasted pretty good too. They didn't have boba when I went around 2pm, not sure when they typically run out. Came late to avoid the opening crowd but I guess we miss...
