I’m perplexed. This is the worst burger I’ve eaten in a very long time. I’d say years. I swear to god I’m not exaggerating or hating. I mean, the staff here are awesome. It’s just that the burger was.. kinda bad? I would put it as a below-average burger. Yeah, double animal, whatever, I got it that way.
The worst part about the burger was the meat itself. I’ve heard they source the meat from reliable sources and never freeze it to make it fresh and juicy. Well, guess what? They just killed it in the kitchen. It’s dry.
Ingredients wise, the sandwich as a whole was kinda well designed, except for two giant slippery tomato slices that made eating this burger properly very challenging. I liked the crunchy fried onions and the buns were well toasted.
Ok, forget about the burger for a second. The fries were seriously bad. I made french fries at home probably four times in my life. I can confidently say that I make much better fries. No, the fries here were absolutely lifeless and soggy. Is this like authentic California fries or something? Seriously, what’s the point in frying them? One of the worst fries I’ve had in a very long time.
The only great thing about in-n-out is the service and the price (no wonder it’s so low). Not related to my experience, but I’d say their marketing is also pretty successful. They don’t do delivery and don’t open branches everywhere to make you think that they’re holier than those other greedy burger chains that care about profit and not about quality,...
Read moreHere is my experience with their drive through: When the guy asked what’s my order, I said VERBATIM “a hamburger, a cheeseburger and ANIMAL fries.” He then interrupts me and says “ok, a hamburger and a cheeseburger, do you want onions on those?” I replied, “yes AND I want animal fries” he says “alright and fries as well” I repeat to correct him and say “ANIMAL fries” as he continues clicking on his iPad. He then finally repeats my order to me: “hamburger and cheeseburger with onions on it and fries.” Once AGAIN, I respond with saying “ANIMAL fries” for the millionth time, but he simply just states my total and tells me to move forward. Once I was driving forward I was confused as to why he never repeated the word “animal,” but I didn’t fret about it too much bc I know they consider it a secret menu item, so I thought he heard me but just didn’t want to repeat it bc it’s like on the down low (not really tho…). BEHOLD , when I’m at the station to pick up my order, they give me regular fries. I was baffled bc I emphasized the animal part of my fries multiple times. Now listen, when I told them about this, they did fix my order and gave me my animal fries with little to no hassle (an extra charge of about 2.62, which is no biggie). But, I was still shocked as to why the first guy didn’t hear when I said “animal.” All in all, no hate to any of the employees (they were super nice) and TBH the fries were one of the best animals fries I’ve ever had. Just thought I would share...
Read moreSo, it was close to closing time when I pulled into the drive through. All the lights were on, and there were dozens of people eating inside. There were about 5 cars in front of me waiting to order. After waiting 10 minutes or so, it was my turn, and I got to the ordering area, and waited, and waited. After about 10 minutes, with no one contacting me on the intercom, I gave up and pulled forward. The car in front of me was handed their order, and the person giving out the food slid the drive through window closed and locked it. I hadn’t eaten in about 12 hours, and was looking foreword to this, and I am so pissed off.
This is HORRIBLE management. I waited 20 minutes for nothing, and I got to witness the car right in front of me get their order! There are so many things they could have done to alleviate this. They could have turned off the drive through light, they could have turned off the menu light, they could have put out a traffic cone to block the drive through lane, they could have apologized to me, and explained they aren’t taking any more orders on the intercom, as they are now closed, they should have done something, instead of having me sit in silence for 10 minutes, waiting for them to take my order, not knowing what was going on. Any of these things could have, and should have been done, and I’d be fine with it, as it was close to closing time, and they have to close sometime, but making we wait 20 mins. for no good reason, with no explanation is...
