Iām perplexed. This is the worst burger Iāve eaten in a very long time. Iād say years. I swear to god Iām not exaggerating or hating. I mean, the staff here are awesome. Itās just that the burger was.. kinda bad? I would put it as a below-average burger. Yeah, double animal, whatever, I got it that way.
The worst part about the burger was the meat itself. Iāve heard they source the meat from reliable sources and never freeze it to make it fresh and juicy. Well, guess what? They just killed it in the kitchen. Itās dry.
Ingredients wise, the sandwich as a whole was kinda well designed, except for two giant slippery tomato slices that made eating this burger properly very challenging. I liked the crunchy fried onions and the buns were well toasted.
Ok, forget about the burger for a second. The fries were seriously bad. I made french fries at home probably four times in my life. I can confidently say that I make much better fries. No, the fries here were absolutely lifeless and soggy. Is this like authentic California fries or something? Seriously, whatās the point in frying them? One of the worst fries Iāve had in a very long time.
The only great thing about in-n-out is the service and the price (no wonder itās so low). Not related to my experience, but Iād say their marketing is also pretty successful. They donāt do delivery and donāt open branches everywhere to make you think that theyāre holier than those other greedy burger chains that care about profit and not about quality,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHere is my experience with their drive through: When the guy asked whatās my order, I said VERBATIM āa hamburger, a cheeseburger and ANIMAL fries.ā He then interrupts me and says āok, a hamburger and a cheeseburger, do you want onions on those?ā I replied, āyes AND I want animal friesā he says āalright and fries as wellā I repeat to correct him and say āANIMAL friesā as he continues clicking on his iPad. He then finally repeats my order to me: āhamburger and cheeseburger with onions on it and fries.ā Once AGAIN, I respond with saying āANIMAL friesā for the millionth time, but he simply just states my total and tells me to move forward. Once I was driving forward I was confused as to why he never repeated the word āanimal,ā but I didnāt fret about it too much bc I know they consider it a secret menu item, so I thought he heard me but just didnāt want to repeat it bc itās like on the down low (not really thoā¦). BEHOLD , when Iām at the station to pick up my order, they give me regular fries. I was baffled bc I emphasized the animal part of my fries multiple times. Now listen, when I told them about this, they did fix my order and gave me my animal fries with little to no hassle (an extra charge of about 2.62, which is no biggie). But, I was still shocked as to why the first guy didnāt hear when I said āanimal.ā All in all, no hate to any of the employees (they were super nice) and TBH the fries were one of the best animals fries Iāve ever had. Just thought I would share...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo, it was close to closing time when I pulled into the drive through. All the lights were on, and there were dozens of people eating inside. There were about 5 cars in front of me waiting to order. After waiting 10 minutes or so, it was my turn, and I got to the ordering area, and waited, and waited. After about 10 minutes, with no one contacting me on the intercom, I gave up and pulled forward. The car in front of me was handed their order, and the person giving out the food slid the drive through window closed and locked it. I hadnāt eaten in about 12 hours, and was looking foreword to this, and I am so pissed off.
This is HORRIBLE management. I waited 20 minutes for nothing, and I got to witness the car right in front of me get their order! There are so many things they could have done to alleviate this. They could have turned off the drive through light, they could have turned off the menu light, they could have put out a traffic cone to block the drive through lane, they could have apologized to me, and explained they arenāt taking any more orders on the intercom, as they are now closed, they should have done something, instead of having me sit in silence for 10 minutes, waiting for them to take my order, not knowing what was going on. Any of these things could have, and should have been done, and Iād be fine with it, as it was close to closing time, and they have to close sometime, but making we wait 20 mins. for no good reason, with no explanation is...
