Have come here many times early in the morning and service used to be ok. The last 2 time I’ve come, they sat me and let the gentleman that was to be my server know they they had sat me in his section (I believe his name was Sam) and same proceeds to walk past my table at least 5x while I sat, making small talk with those that frequent the restaurant likely on a daily basis, filling coffee and other beverages, going in and out of the kitchen, bringing food. Meanwhile, there I continue to sit without being acknowledged at all to take my drink order even, let alone my food. 5, 10, 15 minutes roll by and for the second time in a row now, I proceed to stand up & just walk out. I consider myself at least an averagely patient person, but this is ridiculous and unacceptable to say the least. The straw that broke the camels back is when another customer came in after I did, was sat, drink order taken, beverage delivered, menu gone over with specials for the morning, and food order placed by this other individual (by Sam) and the kicker is that this person was seated right next to me 😅 so he absolutely can not say that he didn’t see me. He was purposely & blatantly ignoring me. Needless to say I will not be back again. Do better. Food service 101, you see someone seated in your section, they’re not looking at the menu (because they already know what they want), 15 minutes go by & you haven’t even so much as said good morning to me (while continuing to serve the 3 other customers that you have, 1 that entered 10 minutes after I did?) lol no thanks, I’m all set. Several other places around town that will appreciate the business. I try to give people, and businesses the benefit of the doubt as much as possible, but when the service is this bad, I’m going to be quite honest about it, especially if it’s not the first time it’s happened with the...
Read moreI had no problems with the FOOD nor SERVICE at this Denny's. I had a HUGE awesome burger! Plus, my waitress was a one of a kind nice person. The atmosphere may have felt dead. But, the purpose of eating a great meal and having great service were surely fullfilled. And I walked out happy and satisfied!
On a side note and more on the dead atmosphere: I think as a business, Denny's have wayyy too many restaurants open with not enough customers going in and not enough people working in them. On the same day, I passed by other Denny's locations that ALSO had DEAD atmospheres both inside and outside. I passed by them before FINALLY settling on this one. So, maybe as a business, Denny's should consider closing down some locations and combine SOME stores. This may save money too.l, etc.
While I personally like the quietness, (and hope most of it stays), the dead atmosphere might form a bad impression. It could make some people nervous about going in to eat and have second thoughts, etc. like I first did. It's the feeling of possibly being the only customer inside and that feeling of being watched, etc. This wasn't the case for me because I WASN'T the only customer inside. But, I could see how such THOUGHT could be unnerving for some at SOME locations; that which I passed by with only 2 cars in their parking lots, etc. And I'm sure Denny's don't lose their customers to other restaurants (like Chilli's) who don't have this issue and is just down the street and who has excellent food too and even some of the same food!
Anyway, my experience was EXCELLENT food, service, and I enjoyed the restaurant itself, etc. It's purpose was more than fullfilled. But, hopefully someday there could be a bit done about the dead atmosphere in not just this Denny's, but other locations in this same city and even...
Read moreDO NOT eat here!! Before we were even sat I asked for a GF menu and was told all the GF items are identified on the menu. When my food came my plate was covered in gravy, not the food just the plate. Since my food came back in less than 2 minutes, on a cold plate, I was sure it was the same food. I had decided not to risk it but since we were traveling and it would be a while before I could eat again, my husband asked them to completely remake the food he was told it was but they would do it again. However this time took 10 minutes and came on a warm plate. The waitress told me the GF muffin was cooked in the regular toaster would that be a problem? As she is setting the plate down in front of me; the English muffin was also placed on top of the hash browns. She apologized and told me “it’s just so rare that someone has a gluten issue”. I wanted ask why they went through the trouble of identifying GF items on the menu if it is rare but did not. She was also so happy to tell me I would not be charged for my meal. When we went to pay for the rest of the ticket, I asked for the manager. Though I received gluten 3 times I did not raise my voice nor did I cuss, I kept my cool and treated him with respect, he did not return it but he did tell me there was no reason to be upset about any of it and especially or with him as he has nothing to do with it. He voided the entire ticket not caring that he is responsible for the restaurant he manages and food it serves. I would hope he would have take me seriously but he told me I no reason to be upset. I told him I wanted to pay for the other food that the purpose was cross contamination. He completely felt free food was the solution. I have never ate at Denny’s and never will again. If you put GF on the menu, be responsible to find out...
