This was a real disappointment. We ordered a pitcher of their "top shelf" margarita and it was just shockingly bad. There was no lime flavor at all - it sort of tasted like a watery Long Island Tea. We finished our glasses and left most of it in the pitcher, which if you knew how much I love even a mediocre margarita, is really saying something. At least they took it off of our bill.
The food was very uneven - some items were OK but for the most part it was just bland. The people running the kitchen clearly stopped caring a long time ago. The chicken was dry. We didn't even eat much of the chips+salsa, which - again, if you knew how we can blow through basket after basket of chips and salsa if it's even halfway decent, is really saying something.
Service is indifferent at best. Two stars for the decor and the ginormous menu (though I think there might be an inverse correlation between menu size and quality, unfortunately)
They were busy (though it was a Friday night), and they have been there for years, so obviously they have a following. If there were any good restaurants in the area I don't think they would survive though. This is actually the first time I've been compelled to review a restaurant but I just felt....sad....after eating here. I have to promise myself that I'll leave reviews for good restaurants...
Read moreCame here on a Sunday afternoon, had zero wait even though the parking lot was full. Awesome! Was seated and had our drink order taken immediately. Great! Salsa was a bit bland for my liking, but that's ok for people who don't like any spice, at all. Margarita was not bad, got a decent little buzz off of it. Tacos were very tasty but not sure what sauce I was given? It was orange and had zero spice/heat/flavor to it at all so I didn't use it. We had ordered queso dip and ran out of chips halfway through the dip. Nobody came by to offer more chips. We were only through half our meal when the waitress came by and asked if we needed boxes and gave us the check (we were actively eating when she showed up and the place had zero people waiting to be seated). I let her know we were still eating, but appreciate the offer. Still had no chips and half the queso left. I do understand, if we had been sitting there forever not eating or taking our time, or even them being busy, they'd want to try and hurry us up...but none of these were the case. We ate our food, without talking, and there were SEVERAL empty tables around us at 1:30pm. The only thing that was good was my tacos and how quick they were to seat us and...
Read moreMy wife and I, both Californians and pretty picky about our Mexican food, didn't expect much finding good Mexican grub here. But, wow, were we pleasantly surprised!I went for the carne asada and al pastor tacos, both à la carte. They nailed it with both, especially with the pineapple in the al pastor – a nice touch! A bit of salsa or a lime wedge would have been the cherry on top, but still great. My wife tried the wet burrito, which was okay but not our cup of tea. It had this white cheese sauce that’s popular around here. Just a heads up, it might not be everyone's thing. We liked the place enough to come back a few days later with a local friend. Had tacos again, and they were just as good. Props to their chips and salsa too – really hit the spot. The restaurant's got plenty of space, it's clean, and the staff are on the ball. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area and craving some...
