Having grew up in St. Louis, I of course have been to Helen's many times. Always a great experience! This time it was a very special occasion as my Son is getting married, and I wanted to have a wedding shower for my future daughter in law. I will tell you that I made the right choice! From the first call, Tiffany Wille, really seemed like she truly cared about my event being perfect. She helped me pick the menu, listened intently and gave great suggestions around making this an amazing event. We had people that we had never met coming in and they all raved about this venue and the food. The proof is always in the service right? From the get go arriving at Helen's, we were greeted and taken to the room to get our decorations up and put out the games, sweets, etc. The staff was super attentive with even one of the owners stopping in several times to check on us. Thank you Brett! BTW, the food is always amazing at Helens, with some very unique offerings. You would always assume that when the food is made in bigger portions, that some quality may be sacrificed. Not at Helen's . The Food was fresh, hot, crunchy, and delicious. We are foody's by the way, so impressing us with food is tough. The staff came in as we were winding down and custom wrapped the food for individuals to take home. The cost was worth every penny. More fresh amazing food than anyone could eat and a beautiful room with great people. There was a mad dash over the leftovers. ;-). Great Job to Helen's Cooks, Wait Staff, Banquet Manager, and the owners for caring so much and making this day a complete success!

Luckily my hotel was right next door to this establishment and I came here on two consecutive nights. This was particularly good given the freezing temperatures outside in mid January. On the first, Sunday evening I was confronted by a lively atmosphere as the clientele was watching one of the off season NFL playoff games. I counted at least 20 screens all showing the same game with the sound volume turned up LOUD. Anyway, a young waitress tried to look after me by shouting in my left ear. I started off by ordering a draft Zwickel beer. Then I went for the Reuben - corned beef with sauerkraut on toasted rye bread with sweet potato fries. It was tasty enough if a bit on the dry side. So I went on to try the Samuel Adams winter beer. At the end of the game I decided to leave and combat some latent jet lag. And on the way out my chatty waitress teamed up with one of her young colleagues who told me that they had gone all around the place and had counted at least 66 large TV screens including one that would make a cinema proud. Impressive. On the following evening, having eaten a little earlier, I popped in to catch the postponed NFL football game from the Sunday and enjoy a Millers lite. All good

WARNING ABOUT WAITRESSES ADDING THEIR OWN TIPS * We have gone to Helen's a few times, just this past Christmas when my father in law was in town for our family Christmas dinner. However, we will not be going back after our experience on Jan 26, 2024. Our time at the restaurant was pleasant, our food was good, our service was not the best but we have had worse and we understood she was busy so eating my broccoli with my fingers till I could get silverware not a big deal. We don't expect 5 star service when we are at a bar and grill, I am just happy to not be cooking and to be out with my husband. The problem started the next morning when I went to do something maybe most don't do anymore and I balanced my checkbook and noticed I had 2 charges. 1 for the amount of our food and 1 for $15. Hmmm. Turns out the 20% tip was not enough for our waitress "Trinity" and she decided to give herself an extra $7. I tried calling the restaurant and speak to a manager at 2 PM not a high traffic time and got voicemail. Alex did call back and said he is going to investigate as well as refunded me the $15, and is sending a gift card for drinks on them. However, I am not impressed with theft and therefore will not be back. We will probably go to their sister restaurant Syberg's which we had such great service at the following weekend! If you eat make sure you take note of how much you tip and then check your bank to make sure you it is the same...

I visited helens for the first time this past Friday, my significant other's daughter side of the family celebrates here every year for their birthdays they always reserve a section of tables. The music was on point The band that was playing just in time. The food was not up to par for the money we were spending. We were getting cold food all night or half portions. The server was wonderful, and she got tipped out accordingly.Cause we know it's never the server's fault, but what I am gonna call you out.. Helen's we spent a nice grip in there Friday on liquor. Just my table, we had at least 5 tables reserved. And nobody had a buzz of any sort between the birthday girl's father and I and her we dropped over $300 alone in liquor it's sad to say that you guys are CUTTING your liquor and that is terrible when patrons come to spend their money at your establishments. Thinking that they're gonna get good drinks and food I need to make patrons aware to know that you're Cutting your liquor and it's not right! You cut your liquor so much. It's to the point, it's water.I didn't come to spend money on water to drink all night. We ordered nothing but reposada all night $,8 shots $300 worth! Not a buzz insight. And I had every inkling to dispute the charges off my credit card and still Do because i'm disgusted buy this like I said, this was the first impression you put on a big party that invited newcomers there NEVER AGAIN!!! STOP CUTTING...
