Read moreJust OK. Still not sure why it's so hard to make Mexican food in Utah, but the streak continues. Tried this place as it's one of the highest rated. Got the street tacos and rice. Rice was bleh, not much flavor and the texture of the rice itself seemed off, maybe a bit undercooked.
The street tacos were underwhelming also. Got 4 different meats, all had the same toppings of cabbage, onions and Cilantro. Carne asada was good but the others were meh as well. I was hoping for slightly different toppings based on the meat choice, and cabbage on anything other than seafood tacos is a bit odd for this Southern California kid who grew up on fish tacos.
I guess by Utah standards it's decent. But still disappointing overall. Tacos mi Mexico in Layton does street tacos well. There's a few other places. Won't put this one on my short list of go-to Mexican...
Read more3 or 4 stars? The food is tasty. The environment and staff is friendly. The only reason I downgraded to a 3 star is because the food quality is sub par. It is obvious that most their product comes directly from a food distributor. It is mostly pre made items that are then heated up. Now that doesn't mean the food is not good. It is on par with most ho hum Mexican restaurants in the area. It would be nice to see a local Mexican restaurant get back to the basics of creating their own handcrafted food.
