The shop itself is so cool and I'm so excited to have one in our town. There are dozens and dozens of games my spouse and I are looking forward to trying. With a membership you can drop in to play a game in the store at no additional cost. You can also rent the games and take them home with you. When the game is returned, the money you spent on the rental is loaded onto a giftcard which you can use to purchase items for sale in the shop. This is the perfect place for us and our newfound passion for board games.
I also want to take a moment to sing the praises of James, the store owner. We dropped in today to play a couple games on our list. When we were putting up a game we had just finished, James asked us if we'd like to play with him. So he pulled Wingspan off the shelf and proceeded to teach us how to play the game. He knew the perfect game to show us and we enjoyed that game thoroughly.
This is a local shop that I am very happy to support. I cannot recommend it enough to anyone who is already interested in board games, would like to give them a try, or simply wants to purchase a game for...
Read moreThis experience was from over a year ago, but a friend recently reminded about this place and I thought the community should know that well-behaved, respectful, young game lovers are not welcome here. We have a ton of games, quite a few that are in this shop, and my girls are very respectful of the games - but they also love to play them. We went as a family & the girls were looking at games, slightly pulling out boxes to see the entire front/ back, etc. I was watching them, too. Perfectly reasonable behavior. The owner was all over them & then berated me that some of these games are very expensive or can't be replaced. I was like yeah, I know, and they know. But he just kept on them until they were scared to touch anything & we went outside to wait until my husband and older son were done looking.
Do they have a lot of really interesting games? Yes. Will we...
Read moreI was very excited when I found out the dreaded MRI I needed was in the same plaza as GGL&C! 😀
I had heard about their breakfast! Unfortunately, I was too late. But they had some tempting treats to choose from!
James, the owner, told me about the mini loaves. The first one started with “Cranberry,” and I didn’t need to hear anything more until he mentioned the second was “Apple Cinnamon.”
The Apple Cinnamon won out! It was delicious!
James entertained me while I ate by telling me about many of the numerous board games they have as well as a new card game from Richard Garfield, creator of MtG, SolForge: Fusion!
I highly recommend GGL&C to any game enthusiasts! 😀. And of course anyone who likes a...
