Overall this was not a pleasant experience. This is the 2nd time we have tried the restaurant and both times very disappointing. We had a party of six ( which means they add 20% gratuity, which seems high for this type of place). Not a complicated order at all. Took almost 40 minutes for 5 burgers and a chicken sandwich. It was not busy during our time there. Only drinks ordered were waters, one old fashion and one margarita ( it was two for happy hour) Service was horrible, never asked about drink refills and only saw the server for order, delivery and bill. They are a hamburger place and the burgers had no flavor at all and was definitely a frozen meat patty thrown on a grill or broiler and that is it. I had a couple of bites and due to it tasting funny my meal just sat there with the server completely ignoring that my whole meal was basically untouched. I am giving the food two stars because the chicken sandwich was good according to my wife. Spoke with the manager and she was polite. Took my meal off and I got the we will talk with server and we had a big group before you arrived lines. I image this place only stays in business due to location and alcohol because based on both of our experiences it is not the food. The previous time the food was basic and nothing great but at least the server was nice although it did take forever. Either way I will not recommend this place nor will we ever go...
Read moreI would have given 0s If. I could, but they won't let you. When I walked in? I was told I could pick any. Seat that I wanted to sit at when I sat down at a table. I was asked to move for bigger parties when there was nobody on that side of the restaurant sitting at all. It took the waitress 7 minutes to come ask if I would like anything to drink and also I really wanted was a water to start with what she didn't even brain. Then it took her another 10 minutes to get our drink to us, which was a 2 for 1 Margarita All day, every single day it says in the menu. Then I was asked what type of tequila. I would like and I said I want the house margaritas She was so rude and so short. And so horrible that I wouldn't even order food. When I came there to order an entire meal and probably more drinks. When my drink should have been a 2 for 1 and I only got one of them. When the bill came, they were $15 a piece. This is probably the most disgusting rough. Restaurant, I've been to in a long time not only the service but just the way every single person was treated in the restaurant was disgusting. I cannot believe that you allow service to overcharge customers and treat them in such a poorly way. Especially after having a hurricane recently and people are just trying to get out and have a good time to get back to normal. And then you get treated like this makes you not even want to go out and spend your...
Read moreTampa Burgers and Pirates is an excellent spot downtown for your dining purposes. Whether you are working in the downtown area, shopping, or getting ready for an evening out at the Straz or a Lightning game, it is a perfect location for any and all of these activities. They have an excellent selection of appetizers (the pretzel is particularly tasty, with beer cheese, mustard, butter, and the salt on the side to put on the pretzel to your taste), entrees are perfectly prepared (The Pirate's Pick is a personal favorite) and they even have a delightful dessert menu (the Chocolate Lava Cake will put you in a food coma) - if you still have room!
If you go to Tampa Burgers and Pirates, you certainly should seek out Emily to be your server. Calling what Emily does being a "server" is a bit of a misnomer, as she welcomes you into the restaurant with an excellent personality and a quick and efficient manner of service. Whether the restaurant is crowded or not, Emily makes you feel like YOU are the only table she's serving and she certainly makes sure you are well taken care of. I always know that Emily will do an outstanding job when I see that she is working at Tampa Burgers and...
