I'm only giving one star for the food - it was pretty delicious. The manager greeted our party of 4 (plus our 4 Service Dogs) at the end of the parking lot before the actual restaurant property. I've never seen anyone in a wheelchair or walker, or with a cane or oxygen tank be greeted far away from patrons that way. She proceeded to ask if our animals were "medical dogs" and when we told her they were Service Dogs, she made a face, as if she didn't believe us. She told us they normally don't allow pets inside, and we repeated they were Service Dogs. She never asked us the one other question businesses are allowed to ask. One of the members who happens to be a combat veteran asked if there was an issue because of the way she was acting. She just kept giving our weird looks and said no, but her body language said otherwise. She asked if we would like to sit on the patio, and we declined. The hostess sat us in the back corner of the restaurant with no friendly greeting or smile. When our waitress came, she was friendly until she saw the reflection of one of the dogs who was under the table in the window. She was genuinely surprised and asked if that was a dog - we told her yes and that there were actually 4 dogs total under the table. When she came back with our drinks, it was a completely different attitude, and not for the better. We had a family sitting at the table next to us who left and came over to thank two members of our group for their service and to compliment our dogs behavior. Another veteran was in the restaurant and came over to chat, we told him what happened when we arrived and he was very displeased. A couple who sat next to us came over as they were leaving to let us know how nice the dogs were behaving and when he was told there were 4 dogs under the table, he was shocked that he hadn't noticed them. He also thanked our 2 members for their service. We had to ask a few times for refills on chips and beverages. Service was not great and we were not attended to by our waitress. As we were leaving, we could hear the folks in front of us be thanked for coming and to have a good night, when we left, no one said anything to us. That stung, especially because we had 2 members that fought for our country with us and we couldn't even be thanked for being patrons at their restaurant. We will never be going back to this location, and we will make sure a lot of people know what the service was like for us there, including other veterans with their...
Read moreI was happy to hear that the aunt Chilada‘s in Tempe had reopened. It’s a central location for me and my daughters to meet and there’s not a lot of other things in that area. We went for our first time last night after the reopening and I am extremely disappointed and will probably never go back. I tried to make a reservation on line but the earliest they had was 7 o’clock and we wanted around five or 530 so I called and that was the best part of our experience because they told us we could come in at 5:15. There were 8 of us. Their margaritas are good and that was the highlight of the meal. We ordered a bowl of queso which was barely warm. We ordered a cup of guacamole and it was a very small cup and 2/3 of the small cup was filled with shredded lettuce and a little dab of guacamole on top of that. You couldn’t even get any guacamole out without the lettuce swirling up in it and there wasn’t that much in the bowl in the first place. Very disappointing on both appetizers. The main meal was the most bland Mexican food I’ve ever tasted in my life. I had ala carte cheese enchilada and a chicken enchilada and both were very dry and bland. I ate about 1/3 of each. There was quite a variety of things ordered and no one thought their food was great. My nine-year-old grandson wanted dessert and ordered churros which he loves and he took one bite and said oh these are awful. The rest of us took a nibble and agreed with him. I mean who leaves dessert but we did! After the bill came we found out that they had a happy hour until six but the waitress never mentioned it so our second margaritas were more than our first and we would’ve definitely ordered before happy hour was up had we known. We didn’t even know they had happy hour prices on any food as we were not offered or told that. Our total bill was $281 tip included and that was six adults and two children and a couple of people split a meal so that seems very high to me for...
Read moreWe were really exited to go there, but it was not what expected. We are staying at the resort, celebrating my mom's birthday and it has been great until last night at this place. Food was OK n Josh our server was attentive, but the hostes were mean n no friendly. There were 3 of us n when it was our turn to get seated, she took us to a room in the back, very dark n gave us a table tucked in all the way in the fastest corner of the room. My mom did not like n I ask for a table in the nice patio, but she said those tables are for large parties, then I ask for a table by the window n she said they were reserved, which was not truth cuz they were never used in the little over an hour we were there. When my mom said we were leaving, out of the sudden she could give us a table in the patio. Right next to another party of 3 that arrived after we did, but their party of 3 was large enough to be at a patio table. What is the difference you may ask, they were white! I did not want to ruin my mom celebration weekend so I said nothing. While seated in our table I observed many other tables with 2, 3, n 4 people so I don't know where she got the "tables at the patio are for large parties" from. We order 2 delicious margaritas, a coconut n a Tamarindo one. They were good, and no cheap, but I was very disappointed when the server brought them on a plastic cup. I looked around and everyone had their drinks in nice glasses, real glasses no plastic. To me presentation is important, specially when you are trying to pamper your mom on her birthday. I am in the hospitality business as Front Office Manager of a Tucson Landmark Boutique n I have a degree in hotel n restaurant manager so I am all about spirit of service, something this place lacks of. They really made us feel like second class guest. I would not recommend to any of my many brown skin friends or family, cuz this " Mexican food " place is not for Mexicans, they cater to...
