Well, at first, you can't seem to find this establishment, unless, you were informed where and what it is/looks like or what it is next to. So, it is next to a La Mohicana Grocery store and 2nd to last store-front to the Left of the Strip-Mall. When entering, the facade is plain, so it blends in with the Mall's Theme-Color. Again, entering, you must be able to endure a cigarette smoked environment, not horrible, but definitely noticeable. Hence, there is a nice enclosed patio out the back that is very nice and quite, no smoke smell, and I did not ask, but, I did not see ash trays, or anything of that nature. So, I might want to check. Smoke doesn't bother me until I eat food. I understand that it isn't for everyone, but I want to get that word out there. It is great food. It is made with passion, but as a Chef for over 25yrs, I can tell when I visit 3 or 4 times, the dish I ordered before was shown, there might be a lack of labor. I can tell the Chef-Owner-GM, or whoever it may be, is either not feeling well, tired, exhausted, or help called out or calls out too much. Regardless, it's usually great 4/5 times. That's pretty darn good in this day and age. So, KUDOS to the Chef-Manager, or who is in charge of the culinary scene.
It is basic fare for this area, SW, Tex-Mex, American traditional, and little fusion, wings, etc. You get it. Just look at the menu up online. Did I have a favorite, No. All was about equal, standing out. So, all was good! The bartender that day will only acknowledge you if you sit up to the bar, or you approach her directly to speak. No, welcome in, no, Hi, how are you? Just what can I get you? I'm cool with that. Some people are not. Again, I want to make that clear. I don't know what they want the place to be, but, my take on it is, it's a place that I see 90% men, single, or just taking a break in the day-night. So, ladies, there are definitely men here. If you're trying to pick up an attractive woman, they are here, but they are serving you, so, good luck there. I did have really polite and professional service, just not my last visit, but that is everywhere, so no big deal to me. I just ate a birger(good, cooked perfectly Med. I think they could use more wing sauces or flavors, which seems to be the trend. Who can have a different/ unique flavor in that category. All in all, I had a great time. Oh, they have a professional shuffle board, pool tables, and a few video games, including plenty of TVs to keep the sports enthusiasts happy!! Good luck. Give them a try. At least you sort of know what to expect. Good job,...
Β Β Β Read moreIf I could give this place zero stars I would. I came to visit tonight and hadn't been here in almost 2 years. This was me and my husband's 2nd time here. I went to the bar and asked the bartender CoCo if I could charge my card to get change for the pool table and she told me no and to use the atm which would cost me more in fees, and she had the worst attitude telling me that. I went to the pool table to tell my husband then remembered I had a $20 on me, so I went back to the bar and asked a different bartender for change for my 20 to play pool. She took my 20 then took a few people's order and went to the back for maybe 10 minutes so I went to ask where she was, but couldn't get anyone to stop long enough to ask them. She came out and was making shots and I reminded her about my change. She politely gave it to me then I told her thank you and tipped her. Afterwards I asked what the owners name was and I was told Kenny.
I walked back to get our pool game started for an officer J to come over to me and told me he was told by CoCo to tell me I had to leave so I was literally kicked out for nothing or because I asked the other bartender for the owners name. She was unjustified in asking the officer to make me leave. I didn't curse them out, hit anyone, I talked calmly to them, and didn't even have a drink there yet, and was put out just because I didn't like her attitude and asked someone for the owners name. The DJ here is dope and the music was on point, the people were cool, but CoCo was rude as hell and discriminated against me for absolutely no reason. This is definitely not the end of this, and I would definitely like to have a conversation with the owner. Never judge a book by it's cover people. Please understand you put out someone you definitely have no idea could have upgraded your business and brought wayyy more clientele here. People like CoCo are the reason certain businesses eventually fail. I work for a place with over 200 to 500 predominant individuals at one of the largest private clubs in Houston every weekend and we go visit several other places....that was not the proper way to treat clientele at all. Also, the only search men for weapons when you come in, but stated not the women which...
