Editing review from second time there: First visit, their hottest level was hot but not too hot, and I finished the whole sandwich no problem. Second visit I ordered the same fire in the hole, and this time there was a whole lot more seasoning on the chicken. My mouth could stand the heat but my stomach couldn't. I finished half the plate of fries and my body wouldn't allow me to consume more capsaicin. Numbed my stomach from the inside and induced cold sweats and metabolism spike. I met my match with capsaicin intake on my second visit... For chili heads, you'd be fine ordering it, just allow it to digest before continuing to eat. For non chili heads, I edited this review as a heads up, the hottest heat level might be too much for you. Nashville heat level (third hottest) is a good starting place if you want hot flavor but less risk of side effects. This edit doesn't effect their 5 star rating because hot food should be hot. Fire in the hole, second time, was a worthy opponent and I met my match!
Original review:
Wow! Delicious chicken sandwiches with special sweet flavors and food truck menu creativity. I got the hottest tender "sando" called "fire in the hole" and the flavor was awesome. So sweet and savory and salty all at the same time. Fresh pickles and delicious "kale slaw" mixed in, and a sauce that was better than Kane's (and I love Kane's sauce). Heat level wasn't quite as hot as anticipated but still quite hot, but didn't give me a panic attack or anything š you can choose any level of heat from none to what I ordered. My kid got the no heat version and loved it as well. The fries were great too! You can choose whatever type of chicken you want on it and it's all mixed up with gooey Mac and cheese and all kinds of sauces and flavors. Delicious as well! Happy to come back again and probably will instead of going to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAlright so,I have turned so many people onto their business. I am a teacher and whenever we have trainings, what place do I ALWAYS suggest, yep it's Urban Bird. We love Urban Bird FOOD. In fact the main reason for this message was due to me attempting to get a gift card for someone that I had turned onto their food. My husband and I order their food about once a month and although they mess up our order more often than not, we never complain and just move forward. Heres our final straw though... Ariana who was at the front counter was trying her best to figure out how to help me, went to get help and to no avail couldn't help me. Now here is the part that I just cannot continue to give this company the benefit of the doubt. The other woman that was trying to help me get a gift card was speaking to the owner, his name is Dale. Dale was trying to make it so they could get it on in their devices and because they couldn't "find it" that was it. They could have simply written a card and said hey next dinner is on us... We messed up and so here is something, but absolutely nothing. Absolutely nothing. We have always said they costumer service was shotty. But this just proves why, Dale doesn't care about his customers and it shows. I hate to write this but urban bird has lost my business and I am passing the word to not show this place anymore of their business either.
If you have come this far to read there is another chicken place in Katy, that serves chicken and waffles, "urban bird fries", and is still a company that cares about their customers. Go see CLUTCH...

The sandwich was good. The tenders was ok. Chicken and waffles was ok.
I wasnāt impressed because of the dryness of the chicken overall. You donāt get that deep flavor. As someone else mentioned, the flavor is all on the outside. There is spicy mayo looking sauce which tastes just like the basic bottled stuff you buy. Not a fan personally, so I canāt really discredit it. The burger was helped by the saucy cole slaw for some moisture.
The Nashville hot is not very hot. It gives you a bit of tingling on the lips and mouth after youāre almost done eating, but for spicy lovers, order up on the spice level. I am not a big spice brat, but can handle a good degree of it. Thereās spice, but thereās no ātstttā feeling. It wasnāt āhotā.
I think the biggest thing you guys are lacking is the way real Nashville chicken is made. Spicy oil. That is what keeps the chicken moist and flavorful. Youāre welcome.
If I had friends visiting, I wouldnāt go out of my way to try this place out when there are many more restaurants to eat at with a bit of wow factor. There was none here. It was just ok overall.
If oil is a health concern, you shouldnāt be eating out. Period. A chef/restaurants goal is to make good food. Not for a health conscious mindset. I made better hot chicken at home during quarantine. You can, too.
The female workers didnāt seem that friendly either. You can feel the bad vibe from them and can see right through the fake kindness and...
