I was there for happy hour and visited this place for the first time. I am taking away couple pts for a few reason. I was confused if I could just sit anywhere outdoor. I asked the 2 guys outdoor who were working and they weren't that welcoming. After sitting down I was approached by a lady. She was nice but again I felt she just didn't cared and was being more attentive to other table. Maybe it was getting towards the end of her shift. Who knows because the I was approached by another waitress, and this time I was annoyed but her service was absolutely outstanding! She was very attentive, and nice. I would ask for Rachelena next time I do visit Bar Louie. Anyways.... The first couple times I did got two different information about the happy hour specials. I didn't like the fact that the menu for happy hour wasn't available and it was more of a verbal information which was different information from different people and created a lot of confusion. Food- Loved the wings, martini and strawberry lemonade Calamari- was alright, little cold when it came out and super chewy Flat bread- i was informed that Buffalo chicken flat bread was only available for happy hour and when ordered that I was disappointed. It just tasted like eating blue cheese, so I wouldn't recommend getting that. Overall 3/5 for service by Rachelena and some of the good food. Taking 2 points for the confusion, other servers not being welcoming/ attentive and some of the food that wasn't that appetizing.

Sat in on a whim, for the first time in several years. I used to frequent BL and the waterway in general 10-13 years ago. I must say, even the last time I visited 3-4 years ago, it was not this bad. But now, I absolutely do not recommend. Currently, the menu has changed as of a year ago (I was told) but they have not been updated. Prices have of course increased, and portion size has severely decreased. My beer was flat, and tasted like something other than the specific beer I ordered - and for example, my “loaded tots” had barely any bacon and a conservative and disappointing drizzle of cheese. ANY, and I mean any fast food location would have been better for a burger and fries than what we just received. Unfortunately, this will be my final Bar Louie visit. With this, I give up on my once favorite spot. And as you can see, and justifiably so. The place is dead at 8pm.

We just went a few days ago, but we ate our Impossible Burgers so fast, I didn't bother taking pics, so these are from two other visits in our history. Consistent excellence on this dish. We started going there when these burgers came out, and only a handful of places had it on the menu, and this was the only spot on this side of town. It set the standard, so if a place has an Impossible Burger and it isn't as good as or better than Bar Louie's, it ain't good. I'm sure all the other stuff on the menu is just as good and thoughtfully prepared. I have had their calamari and it is very good. They have good cocktails but also really good non-alcoholic drinks. Parking is convoluted, but the easiest option for me is to park in the mall lot and walk over. You'll need that little stroll to decompress after eating so much good food!! Staff is always very friendly.

The atmosphere was nice. My server however rubbed me the wrong way. When we arrived he greeted us by asking what we wanted to drink instead of introducing himself and providing his name. As someone who has served for many years, that was the first red flag. After looking over the menu I decided to take advantage of their brunch special and asked for a $2 mimosa. He said in a nasty tone, "we're not doing any brunch items." It was Saturday around 2:20pm and per the menu he handed me brunch did not end until 3pm. I said I wanted a mimosa and he said ok and ended up bringing me one. Second red flag. The only acceptable reason to not serve a brunch item during brunch hours would be due to not having said item in stock to prepare, but this was not the case. So why I was told there are no brunch items makes no sense to me. I proceeded to look over the menu to decide on an entree. I was interested in the Cali Chicken Sandwich but wanted the brioche bun that is served with the burgers. I asked him if I could swap on the bread and he again said very short and nasty, "nope we don't have any buns." After explaining to him again that I would like the brioche bun that comes on the burgers instead of the sourdough bread he then said "oh yea I can do that." Third red flag. Obviously just not listening to his guests or deciding that he is not goin to make any substitutions for our party as we were there celebrating a graduation and he was the only one serving this large party. At this point I'm just ready to see the ticket. The first thing I noticed was my mimosa was not charged as a mimosa, it was charged as a completely different drink for $11.99. The second thing I noticed on the ticket was the name JASE. Now if you've read the reviews you will see this location has maybe 3 one star reviews and the longest one is about JASE stealing tips. All the red flags were confirmed when I saw his name. It's a shame to know Bar Louie still has him as an employee after stealing tips from credit card transactions. It's also a shame that he is allowed to serve large parties by himself when there are other servers that can help out. And for him to tell guests the brunch menu isn't being honored to get larger tickets in hopes of larger tips is DISGUSTING! I hope Management sees this review and decides to do something about this type of behavior because people do not go out to enjoy a nice meal to get scammed. Now again I've served for many years and I know not all people tip when they go out. But that does not give servers the right to be manipulative and steal. There is a right way to do everything and this just wasn't it. I mean good job JASE by knowing you have a bad review and tweaking your intro by not giving a name to throw your guests off but with that service it wasn't hard to figure it it was...

My friends and I met up a Bar Louie before the Dave Matthew's Band concert, and then again after the concert. We had no issues before the show, but hoo-boy, did we get the WORST service afterwards. Honestly, we have no idea why or what happened. It was truly bizarre.

I got there first, used the restroom, then grabbed a seat at the bar.

I was trying to save a place for my friend, but another couple walked up to the two open seats to my right and, as the bar was packed, I didn't try to keep them from sitting there. They were at the show, too, and I wasn't sure how long my friend would be, so I told them to have at it.

The guy to my left said he was about to leave. The timing was perfect: He headed out right when my friend got there.

I had ordered one beer. My friend ordered a shot and a beer. We were not drunk, we were not obnoxious, we didn't cause a scene. We were trying to kill time before we called an Uber because the crowds were so big.

Enter the bartender.

Idk what this guy's deal was, but when we asked for the tab, my friend explained that my beer plus her shot and beer should be on the same tab. Pretty normal stuff.

The bartender drops off the tab, and it only has my friend's drinks on it. After a moment, she gets his attention to ask him to add my drink.

This guy gives her the meanest look, slams his hand down on the bill and crumples it up and throws it away while staring us down.

It was completely unhinged and uncalled for.

Both me and my friend are restaurant/bartender industry veterans. We know how things work, and we always treat servers with the respect they deserve.

Neither of us can figure out what happened, but it was clear at that point that we were not welcome. We didn't even finish our drinks; we just paid the tab and left.

More than anything, it was just bizarre. And it's a shame, too, because the person that took care of us before the concert was awesome.

I don't know what this guy's deal was, but suffice to say, we'll never go back. It was an...

I used to work here, sometimes I come to surprise old coworkers and just for the food, etc. Tonight I came cause it’s Halloween and my girls bday. I want to start off saying I have no problem with bar louie. Great people and I enjoy coming. Me and my group got here around 10:06pm, my server honestly sucked ass. The problem we had with him. He never really asked if we needed anything, mainly had to flag him down just for a refill. Our drinks probably were empty maybe 10-15 minutes. Yes I will say he did good bringing alcohol, but water, etc. Yeah nah he never did anything besides once. Besides when we FIRST got there, after that nope not at all. If he did come outside it wasn’t to check on us. Even when he “checked” it was him peeking through a window half assed. I rarely did see him in the building, most likely hid in the back. Food wise, first round of food came out pretty fast and was fresh. Second round was cold which some of us didn’t care but the people who actually do this or have done this it pissed us off. Third round actually was fresh thankfully. Everything was tasted better than the last time I was there so props for that.

Back to server, I know we ordered a lot of drinks but he never did once ask to grab anything off the table, even when we would stack it when it was empty. I honestly don’t remember his name cause honestly idk if he even said it loud and clear. I will say he was wearing a dodgers shirt and I think a hat, idk idc.

I do appreciate how bar louie has gotten better than how it was when I did work there, I see the change and it’s great honestly. Just wanted to share my...
