We’re new to the area and have been looking for new local places to try. I was browsing restaurant week menus and was intrigued by a couple of their entrees, so we decided to stop in for a late lunch on Friday. This was our first dining experience in that area, and we had a difficult time finding free parking, but there was a moderately priced parking garage close by, we just opted for that as it is a bazillion degrees in summer in Texas, and we didn’t want to have to walk too far. The restaurant interior was contemporary with a large bar in the main dining room, a side dining room that was similar to a covered patio, and a large wrap around outdoor patio on the water. If it had been late fall or spring, I would definitely opted for the patio, but as I mentioned, it’s just too hot right now. We were seated right away in one of the few booths near the bar. The entire menu was tempting and we opted to order off the full menu as opposed to the restaurant week menu so we had more options, and we often get too full to enjoy dessert. We started with the Texas Charcuterie Board, largely because it is served on a giant pretzel, and these are my husbands favorite (we’ll go back to try the cheesesteak egg rolls, the deviled eggs, and the kung pao shrimp and calamari on a future visit). The charcuterie board was piled high fruit, cheese, nuts, and meats, and served with a cheese sauce and ground mustard for the pretzel. The stand out for me was the jalapeno sausage and the pretzel itself. I would have liked a bit more fruit (grapes instead of dried apricots maybe), and no green olives, but that’s more of a personal preference. It was a good choice for us, and could’ve been shared easily by 3-4 people as an appetizer. I ordered the pistachio crusted scallops with broccolini and brussel sprouts as my entrée and my husband had the espresso rubbed pork chop with sweet potato mash and street corn casserole. The food was delicious. The scallops were large and fresh, I would’ve preferred them to have been seared a bit longer, but again, personal preference. The sauce and veggies were also fresh and plated nicely. My husband’s pork chop was mouth watering, large, juicy, and tender. The street corn casserole was basically street corn off the cob, but I don’t care what you call it, the corn was sweet and fresh, and the toppings were complimentary flavors. We were too full for dessert! Our server was informative, attentive, and everyone was very friendly! We look forward to visiting again in the near future!

**Group of Four Review:** Our dining experience was quite delightful overall, earning a commendable four-star rating. The culinary offerings were exceptional and showcased the chef’s talent, although we did encounter a couple of minor setbacks. Two of our guests had ordered the pork chop and, to our disappointment, they discovered it to be somewhat tough, lacking the tenderness one would expect. In stark contrast, my salmon was a highlight of the evening—cooked to perfection with a beautifully crisp exterior, it was bursting with rich, savory flavors that danced on my palate. The other guests chose the redfish, which they couldn’t stop raving about; its freshness and exquisite taste truly impressed them. We arrived promptly at 4 PM, and the ambiance was inviting and cozy, setting a pleasant tone for our gathering. However, as the evening progressed into 6 PM, the restaurant gradually transformed into a lively hub of activity. The once serene atmosphere became a cacophony of chatter and laughter, making it somewhat challenging to carry on a conversation. Compounding this, the evening air was brisk and biting, and the door leading to the outdoor area was left ajar, allowing a chilly draft to waft in and disrupt our comfort. I highly recommend making a reservation if you plan to dine indoors during peak hours to avoid these issues. In terms of service, it was attentive and hit all the right notes. We savored two different wines that beautifully complemented our meals—a crisp and refreshing Pinot Grigio paired wonderfully with the seafood, while a smooth Chardonnay added a touch of elegance. However, the two gentlemen in our party ordered dirty martinis, only to find them overly salty, an unfortunate common sentiment among them. Despite these few minor drawbacks, our evening was thoroughly enjoyable. We look forward to returning, and I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment for anyone seeking a cozy dinner out with friends or family. They also host a happy hour from 3 PM to 6 PM, although, regrettably, our choice of drinks did not fall within that promotion. 😉

If I could give this establishment ZERO STARS, I WOULD! On May 20th, I booked a private dining event with Hearsay On The Waterway. This event was in honor of obtaining my Masters Degree. Initially, communication with Ginger was excellent. She gave us very clear details on options we had available to choose from. Once the deposit was paid, all communication with Ginger ceased. Several phone calls and emails were made with no response. Eventually a follow up email was sent expressing our disappointment in the lack of communication, Ginger apologized profusely. The day of the event arrived and I was so excited to have an opportunity to celebrate with family and friends. That was ALL RUINED due to the lack of friendliness and professionalism from the waiters on duty as well as the General Manager, Kimberly. Apparently, there was a lack of communication on Ginger and Kimberly’s end. I booked with the agreement that I’d have from 1:30pm-3:00pm to decorate and 3pm-5pm to engage with family and friends while enjoying brunch and a clean up time of 5:00pm-5:30pm. The General Manager ARGUED with me that my guest and myself were an HOUR LATE! This was FALSE! On top of that, she stormed into my party, very aggressive with a contract in hand demanding that my guest who arrived at 4:30pm would not be allowed to eat her food while at the restaurant, it would need to be packed up to go. She then began saying we needed to be out at exactly 5pm due to another party coming in at 6pm. (THIS WAS A LIE) She then went on to explain that if we wanted more time we’d have to pay an extra $500. She continued to explain that her kitchen was behind due to our tardiness (which we were not tardy) and that brunch ended at 3pm and because we came late, it put her kitchen staff behind. Clearly Kimberly and Ginger did not do a very good job at communicating the details of this event. Neither did Ginger do a good job at communicating with us that Brunch ended at 3pm. None of this was specified to us prior to booking. All of my guest were unhappy with the way they felt rushed and unheard when ordering and requesting particular items for their food. On top of the General Manager being rude and nasty, the waiters were nasty as well. They were very short with my guest. It’s as if this team saw a group of African-American people and became upset at the fact they were required to serve them. Due to Kimberly’s unprofessional behavior and unfriendly staff, it caused me to totally HATE my experience. What was suppose to be a joyous occasion turned out to be a complete NIGHTMARE! Kimberly was unapologetic about the way that she and her staff handled themselves. And to make matters worse, two waiters ran outside to a random guest of mines asking for his credit card in order to pay the $1,015 balance! Mind you, I placed a card on file in order to pay the deposit. To my knowledge, my card was on file and the remaining balance would automatically be charged. Once again, there was a lack of communication. Why on earth would you ask a random guest for his card when you know I am the host? Why wouldn’t you ask me while inside of the restaurant to cash out as we were cleaning the room? Why wait until we are outside taking pictures for not ONE but TWO waitresses to come out as if our intentions were to skip out on the bill. At that point it felt as if we were being profiled due to the color of our skin! In 2020 I was unable to celebrate my Bachelors due to COVID. Here I am excited to finally have my dream celebration in honor of my Masters and it was completely RUINED! Thanks Kimberly, Ginger and the entire waitstaff of Hearsay for ruining my experience. $1,270 totally wasted due to the unpleasant experience with the...

I came here because my son is autistic and he is very picky when he eats , and I saw that they had a waffles and chicken and also we wanted mimosas . ( bottom less mimosas) 😊 wich by the way they are no bottom less mimosas. Lol! But we stay because my main concern was my son who is already 20 but he still very picky . Anyway the waitress took her sweet time to come and ask us for the drinks and gives ua the menu. Then later she come back and ask if we were ready to order. I was asking questions about the menu and appetizers and stuff , she said they didn’t serve them until after 3 and I wanted appetizers with my mimosas. any way I said ok fine no biggie. I tiks her to gives us a little more tine to see what we wanted “she goes ok . “But you can tell her attitude. It was like she didn’t wanted to be there … So she come back like more then few minutes .. more like 10 minutes . I didn’t said nothing !!! I started asking questions about the menu , My husband is the kind of person that he likes to see the plates and order like that or he asks the waitress what do they recommend and he goes from there .we ask for 3 things They didn’t had it either it was funny because she keep saying that was brunch only ,but they did had hamburgers !!!lol so I say ok . What do you have ???? Any way my husband ended ordering something that he didn’t want it he order a hamburger. Because he wanted the salmon with salad and she said they didn’t had it either .Later I saw an other waitress bringing all the food that we have ask for to an other table!!!!! I was so mad . I sais let me come down . I get up walk by the table and guess what ??? The person had the same plate that my husband wanted . I call the other waitress and ask her about the plate she goes yes! Is salmon ! I said call the manager . The waitress told my waitress that I had call the manager before she call the manager lol.!!! The manager came , we explained the situation he apologized. And he order the salmon for my husband . We keep calling other waitress to our table becuase my sons were eatting with out drinks she didnt come to give a refill !!I ask for a coffee she didn’t do a refill while we were waiting it was really bad service from thia waitress . Manager come back with an other coffee Because our waitress was inside most of the time and helping other tables lol.. so at the end we give tip to the other waitress and she apologized for our waitress. Food was good but I feel like this waitress was racist I am sorry but that is how we felt .it awful. !!because I can’t find any other explanation maybe lazy?? I dont know . Manager give us a discount .apologies a couple of the times . But they still getting this bad review. Becuase is not right . !!! Maybe she taught we didn’t had money ? Or we were going to give a bad tip ? By the way we still tip her she didn’t deserve it but we did it anyway she never came to apologize or explain to us !! We always try to tip waitress god because we believe is the right thing to do and if they do an exepcional job we always tell them and give more that 20% .So we give 2 tips that day. They said they were short handed that day . But ,We were seeing the other waitresses and waiters, Doing a good job with their tables . So I don’t thinks it was that . I like the place .very nice but it was a bad...

The management team is remarkably disappointing. We booked a private dinner, (which was not cheap to say the least) and were disregarded and disrespected multiple times. Communication between Ginger, (the hospitality manager) was poor, inconsistent and proved to be very difficult and ineffective mostly. It seemed as if once she received our deposit, she no longer was interested in answering emails or returning phone calls.

There was miscommunication between she, myself and the restaurant manager Kimberly, (who by all accounts was extremely belligerent and unprofessional herself). This woman literally had the audacity to tell us very loudly and aggressively in front of all of our guests that we needed to start cleaning ASAP because, our contract states that we were to be out in 30 mins. They had another booked engagement.

We were completely aware of what our contract stated, but how was that appropriate to say in front of everyone? The room was small, so everyone was looking at us stunned and it made them feel very uncomfortable. How embarrassing! I politely pulled her aside, outside of our room of course, and expressed my concern and disbelief in her unprofessional behavior. She apologized, but in the same breath excused her behavior by explaining that they had a really stressful day. I reminded her that “stress” is inevitable due to the nature of the business. However, that has no bearing on how you treat your guests. I was completely mortified by her lack of accountability.

The waitresses were not hospitable or friendly either. They were very “matter of fact” and never once smiled. It’s as if they were doing us a favor by booking with them. They didn’t listen to our requests or even ask appropriate questions regarding our preferences. Every steak was cooked the same for those of us who ordered steak and eggs; medium rare. They never asked any of us how we preferred our steaks. They just served us what I refer to as RED VELVET STEAK. The eggs looked as if they had been scrambled in the same pan as what they cooked the steaks in. They were spotty with hints of brown in color. The guests who ordered the chicken and waffles had no complaints.

Overall, this one of the most horrific dining experiences that I’ve ever had the displeasure of having. I will NEVER patronize this restaurant at any location and will never recommend it to anyone. We paid far too much money to have received the level of blatant, disrespect and disorganization as we did.

Might I also add that the same waitress who had plenty of opportunities to ask either myself or my sister for final payment, literally walked up to one of our guests and asked for payment for the remainder of the bill....
