This is in regards to the newly opened location on Main st in downtown Sylvania. All good things must come to an end and in this case what was Executive on Main or at least the hallow empty shell of a restaurant (or what’s left of it) disappointed big time. This new place cleverly titled Grumpys (ironically I left the restaurant feeling like this) left a bad taste in my mouth. Not a good sign from a newly opened location. First and foremost they ran on a limited menu (as most new kitchen staff do) which I’m ok with but the poor customer service needs to be addressed. After 45 min of waiting (and a whopping 4 coffee refills. Yes 4, that’s how long we waited for our food) my son and I decided it was enough time and we walked out. I hate being that guy I really do especially since I’m in customer service myself. But my goodness. This place stunk. I tried to speak to a manager and was left for well over two minutes with the phone down while I listened them scrambling for the manager. That’s strike two. That’s it. I went over to a local diner and was helped within minutes. Actually my food came back before I could finish this review they were a lot busier than this place was which speak volumes. I really hope this place knows how big the shoes they are attempting to fill. Because first impressions are vital and in this case, they failed the litmus test. Grumpys on the go needs to figure something out other wise customers will “go” somewhere else. It’s a shame really. I really wanted to be optimistic about this place. But with piss poor experience l, it’s a hard pill to...
Read moreI visited this restaurant for the first time today. There was a limited amount of options for food comparatively. I was told by the server salads were notable and worthy. My choice was a southwest salad. I also thought a grilled cheese would be nice and received one with bacon and tomato added. The only item in my salad that resembled southwestern style, was the candied pecans. There were no southwestern style flavors, No knife to cut my salad or the red onion slices on top. I don’t recall the advertised cheese in the salad, but it lacked flavor also. It came with croutons and 2 corners of seasoned pita bread. The grilled cheese was served on Texas toast, thicker than my preference for a traditional grilled cheese. I had asked for Ryebread, and heard nothing regarding the Texas toast or any options. The bacon was crisp, which I enjoyed. The tomatoes were ripe. The cheese were obviously slices, meant to melt, but did not thoroughly, as I learned when I picked the sandwich apart to avoid the extra bread. I realize My experience could have been better had I reviewed the Choices more carefully, but that doesn’t exclude the fact that I felt there was no love in the food. That is a quality I look for in every place I visit. I expressed my experience to the woman ringing me up. She said she would let them know. I also paid $5 for parking prior to entering. Overall, this is not an establishment I would return to. I cannot justify spending $30 for a meal that I barely touched to a restaurant that didn’t even notice. Best wishes...
Read moreSo let's start off by saying this is my first time at grumpys the staff was great the vegan veggie was great the salad was a salad not Manny dressing options for vegans buy hey you win some you loose some. So I came in to grumpys for a quick bite, I thought the place was nice so I decided to dine in I order every single vegan item off the menu(I tend to believe I'm a traveling vegan food critic) so again I'm eating and from one plate to another I get to the VEGAN impossible burger. I talked to everyone here so I stopped a random worker and told them that the burger was under cooked and could it be remade to go because I had finished everything else the worker told me no it's vegan it's suppose to be like that and that's cooked more than what we usually cook them so no. So I ask for a manager and she says to me No I'm the owner(CASSIE) nice to meet you ( had to ask the other employees her name cusbshe never gave it) I'm like I've been vegan over 7 years and thats not done she then says well we not remaking it we can take that one and put it back on the grill and that's it. I usually don't do bad reviews but it was imperative that I publicly share this experience. I wish nothing but luck to any business owner but that by far was the worst experience I've had in years. I really wish this was social media so I could tagged the city's health inspector. And btw before grumpy decides to reply and warrant their nonsense I recorded the whole thing and will be more than happy to post...
