I stopped in Tap & Toast about 9:15 pm on Friday night. The atmosphere was so welcoming. The food was outstanding. I ordered the crab cakes appetizer and fish & chips entree. The crab cakes were on the level of crab cakes I have found in Boston. Their Cajun sauce was delicious ! I ordered an extra side of it. The Fish & chips was amazing!!! The fish had a kick to it! We arrived to the place a carryout order, greeted, went to bar to place order and had a question about the cha cha slaw and the waitress told us it's like regular slaw with a mayo base which is was not, its more like a bang bang sauce. I ordered the shrimp and wedges which were very good, but the menu says it comes with house tartar sauce, which I did not get. I had looked forward to supporting this restaurant due to its great reputation for quality food, but unfortunately, I cannot recommend it based on what I’ve learned. A close family member worked as a chef here and was not compensated for their work. This is deeply disappointing and raises serious concerns about the business’s ethics. I hope the management will take responsibility for this matter and treat their staff fairly...
