My friend and I were seated and our waiter promptly took our order. Now. My friend ordered wings and the cajun pasta with shrimp and the waiter commented on how it was a good choice and he couldn't understand why people ordered the cajun pasta with chicken. Now. I wanted the cajun pasta with chicken but when he asked me after he was done talking I told him I wanted the cajun pasta with shrimp and the molten lava cake.
Now. We were given drinks right away which was nice although, the waiter didnt say a word which is whatever I figured he's working 2 other tables he's busy doesn't have time to chat right now. After our drinks we waited twenty minutes for our pasta which isn't unreasonable but, see, he gave us our pasta without a word, which is, well he could have said "enjoy" and I'd noticed, he was talking a lot at the other tables which struck me as strange and we got a refill for our sodas as we ate, no word to either of us as he did so, I asked for my cake, no verbal confirmation just looked at me and gave me my refill and walked away. Now. We got out pasta twenty minutes in. I asked for my cake in the beginning mind you. By the time I got it, it was fifteen minutes after our pasta and I was just done because I couldn't understand why he hadn't checked up on us once, to see how we were doing or saying really anything at all.
My friend, is himself a waiter at another establishment and I decided to ask if they was typical behavior because I myself wouldn't know. He replied in the negative. He was angry. He works an average of 6 tables at a time, which I assumed was impressive but he said that's normal for any competent waiter especially given, the 3 tables this waiter had was a total of 7 people, while my friend works 6 tables with at least 3-4 people each and, yet my friend for whatever reason has enough time and decency to check on all his tables to ensure everyone is happy and satisfied. I'm not saying it because he's my friend. He actually knows how to make people feel welcome and provide ample service.
My friend was explaining this as I ate my dessert and honestly. I was just disappointed because it was my idea to come and I felt at fault. We're college students and we go to different schools so a week from now I'll barely see him until Thanksgiving break if even, most likely winter vacation and this is how I ended summer.
We asked for the bill, the waiter brought it over, no word, no "I hope you enjoyed your evening" or well anything at all. We tipped him 15% which was the minimum amount and just left and I wouldn't come here if you're looking to have a good time. But if you're just hungry and really don't expect much, go for it. Food was good, prices weren't crazy in my opinion and neither was the waiting time for the food either. Sorry to talk for so long but it...
Read moreUpdate 1/21/2021 We had a much better experience today! Reminder to future self.. the big mouth bites sliders are super yummy!! Just ask for them to be plain, no cheese, no seasoning and fries with no seasoning and wow it is perfect!!
Everything was super clean this time. Service was very fast and friendly. No masks required as soon as you get to your table so you can eat like a normal human being! Great experience!
On a side note.. the governors of NY and NJ are destroying large and small businesses.. from the movie theaters, bowling alleys, stores, and restaurants to entire malls.. these rediculous lockdowns will cause everything to go bankrupt and shutter forever. I have never seen this mall or the Paramus NJ malls so empty in my entire life. All these thousands of employees will lose their jobs if the malls and movie theaters close forever. This virus has infected millions, but 99% of them get a mild headache and recover, just like the common flu and common cold. But locking down and masking up and social distancing and reduced hours and reduced amount of customers will 100% cause businesses and malls to fail and never return. It is time for common sense. Time to open the world again before everything is gone.
End of update (such a different world from when we visited this place 1 year ago).
Good experience. Good prices. Great service. Pretty good flavor. Pros: Hamburger was tasty and pretty good. I think just slightly overseasoned and a little overcooked. The bun was good. Red Robbin's burgers are way better though.
Fries were ok. They were a bit over seasoned and a bit overcooked, similar to the burger
Employees were very friendly
Service was very fast
Prices are just about right
Plenty of tables
You can add your phone number to make a reservation and they text you when your table is ready.
Cons: The steak slices from the fajita were unfortunately way over seasoned, way too much marinade, heavy onion/garlic aftertaste.. just too spicy and not enjoyable. On top of that, it was overcooked.
Some of the fajita ingredients were old and probably sitting out too long (tomato bits, cilantro, onions, and others).
Floor is very dirty. Scraps of food and paper scattered about. I thought at first it was only dirty near where we sat, but the entire restaurant seemed to be covered in scraps of food.
The decor is a bit bland and uninteresting. See Outback, Friendlys and Red Robbin for better decor ideas.
Restroom was a little dirty with pee on the floor and smelled very bad from poo. I think the vent is broken.
Only 1 diet soda drink available. Please add diet Dr Pepper or Diet rootbeer of any brand.
Adding Joes Tea would be awesome too...
Read moreHorrific Service. It took us about ten minutes to be greeted and acknowledged. It probably took another ten minutes to get drinks and chips salsa and guacamole to the table. Side story to the chips salsa and guacamole...we as a table ordered the 2 for 25. The options for appetizers were chips and salsa or chips and guacamole and others. So one couple ordered the chips and guacamole and the other ordered chips and salsa. When the waiter bought out the appetizer, the chips and guacamole came with salsa so we asked the waiter if we could just get the guacamole. He said it would be an upcharge. How does that make sense? If we would have known the 2 for 25 came with chips and guac came with salsa , why would I get just the chips and salsa??? Anyways other than that... Dishes were piling up on the table and it wasn’t until halfway through everyone’s entree that drinks were refilled and empty dishes from appetizers. My chicken came warm on the outside and cold in the middle so I sent it back. I was given the wrong dressing on the salad. We asked for the check and our dessert to go. The desssert came out like we were eating it there. When the check came , it was incorrect. Never again...
