I got that Dog Haus in me.
Wasn't sure I'd get anything here at first since I thought this was just a hot dog place, I mean, you see that name and nothing else comes to mind. But I was curiously checking the menu and found that not only do they sell hot dogs, but also sausages, burgers, and chicken. And they even offer beyond and impossible options for their meats, which is a big plus for me.
Ended up ordering online as they offer a $5 coupon for new customers online, though you do need to create an account. (which is why I keep a few junk email accounts handy) Went with the Bad Mutha Clucker, a create your own Sausage, and some Tots. Coming to a respectable total of a little over $23 after the discount was applied.
When I arrived to pickup my meal I was greeted by an employee carrying a dog out of the kitchen area telling me "this isn't what it looks like", not sure what she meant by that but after confirming I don't have a dog allergy she handed me my order. Rather weird encounter, but it made it a little more memorable.
Back at home I found that the chicken sandwich was by far the best thing I picked out, go figure the restaurant creation is good. It had tender fried chicken, a soft and puffy bun, fresh and crispy pickles and lettuce, and my added slice of white American cheese. The tater tots were second place, being loaded with flavor and paring perfectly with the garlic aioli sauce I got for dipping. And pulling up the rear was my custom sausage, which I went with a beyond brat, pickles, cheddar cheese, crispy onions, sauerkraut, and BBQ sauce. I've never had a beyond sausage before but I was not impressed, which is odd considering I really dig the beyond burgers I have had in the past. My combination of ingredients, which did great on a grilled cheese not that long ago, did not work quite as well in this case. A shame, really.
Overall a fine meal for the price, but I do wish the Clifton Park location would add some of the other Dog Haus menu items like the shakes and ice cream they...
Read moreLet me start by saying: Dog Haus itself is fantastic. The food was great, the atmosphere was lively, and every single staff member I interacted with — from the host to the kitchen crew to the manager — was friendly, attentive, and clearly cared about providing a good experience. If I could rate just them, this would be a five-star review.
But unfortunately, one person ruined the entire visit: the bartender, Gianna.
I don’t say this lightly — Gianna was, hands down, one of the rudest, most unprofessional service workers I’ve ever encountered. From the moment I approached the bar, she had an attitude like she was doing me a favor just by acknowledging my existence. She rolled her eyes when I asked a question about the drink menu, snapped at me for clarifying an order, and then proceeded to get the order wrong twice. No apology, no ownership — just pure arrogance and hostility.
While the rest of the team was running around helping customers with a smile and actually working, Gianna spent most of her time leaning on the bar, ignoring people, and chatting with friends like she was at a party, not at her job. It was honestly shocking compared to how great everyone else was.
To their credit, management stepped in immediately after I voiced my concern. They were professional, apologetic, and handled it with grace. I have zero complaints about them — in fact, they did everything right. It’s just a shame that someone like Gianna is representing the bar when everyone else is clearly working hard to build a solid reputation.
If you go to Dog Haus (and you should!), do yourself a favor: avoid the bar if Gianna’s working. She’s the only dark cloud over an otherwise...

I cannot stress enough what a fantastic experience we had here. From the moment we walked in, we were treated with absolute care, excellent speed of service and slammin’ good food.
We sat at the bar. The thing is: DogHaus is counter service, so you order when you first walk in. The only way you are “served” for the entirety of your meal is if you sit at the bar. People seem really perplexed by this idea, to the point where they are openly rude to the employees at the register because they don’t get it and they’re hungry. This counter service model is particularly West coast, so the East coast might want to try and keep up. I mean, we are 3 hours ahead for a reason.
Anyway, everything we ate was off the chain. Juicy brats on Kings Hawaiian Rolls, really perfectly crispy fries and a side of that beer cheese sauce that is to die for. Katie was knowledgeable and took great care to make sure we had a blast.
Before you take these negative reviews to heart, keep in mind that DogHaus isn’t your traditional sit down restaurant. If you can open your mind enough to try a different style of dining, you will not be disappointed. Also, maybe be nice to the people who deliver your food and see what happens.
Seriously, stop reading...
