Subject: Ongoing Harassment and Unresolved Issues at BJ’s Parking Lots and Pickup Areas (Garden City NY)
BJ’s Customer Service,
I am writing to formally express my deep frustration and concern regarding ongoing issues at several of your store locations—specifically in Garden City, NY. As a loyal customer, I have encountered consistent problems that have made my shopping experience increasingly unpleasant and uncomfortable.
Harassment in the Parking Lot: Every time I visit these location, I am approached by individuals loitering in the parking lot, attempting to sell water filters and BJ’s-purchased candy to customers. These unauthorized solicitors are not only infringing on store policies, but they also harass and disrespect customers who choose not to buy from them. I have personally been subjected to rude comments and disrespectful behavior simply for declining their sales offers. This kind of harassment is unacceptable, and despite multiple complaints to store management, no action has been taken to address the situation.
Pickup Parking Issues: Additionally, I regularly use the BJ’s app for grocery pickup, but I am frequently faced with a frustrating problem: the designated pick up parking spots are often occupied by individuals who are not using the service. These non-app users park in the designated spots because it is more convenient for them to go into the store. This makes it difficult for actual app customers to complete their pickups in a timely and efficient manner. Once again, I have raised this issue with store management, but the situation has not improved, and enforcement of these reserved spots remains nonexistent.
The lack of enforcement of these policies, combined with the harassment from unauthorized vendors, has made my visits to BJ’s stores in these areas increasingly uncomfortable and stressful. As a long-time member, I expect a safer, more professional environment when I shop with you.
I am requesting the following actions be taken immediately:
A- Prohibit unauthorized vendors from soliciting or selling in the parking lot at all store locations.
B- Enforce the designated pickup parking spaces for app customers to ensure they are available when needed.
C- Ensure that store management takes customer complaints seriously and follows through on resolutions.
If these issues are not addressed promptly, I will be forced to reconsider my membership and explore other shopping options.
I look forward to hearing back from you and seeing improvements at the stores in...
Read moreI have been shopping at Costco, when they started as Price Club....NEVER had anything to complain about. Been shopping at various BJS locations over past 23 years, and mostly no issues. The location at garden city is convenient so I go there very often. My Major complain, I and I have tried Several times to speak with a store manager, only Once about a month ago managed to speak with an assistant manager, about the shopping cart issue. There is almost NEVER shopping carts available in the entrance location, or the corals in the parking lot. You walk into the store, turn right back around- hot sun, freezing day, pouring rain, follow someone leaving the store to their vehicle and get a cart to go shopping. Or start looking for a cart as you park, then take into store. The Major reason is that for more than 7 years there is a homeless person stacking carts and living in the lot, surrounded by new and old carts at the far end of the lot. None of the managers seems to care enough to go get carts back and make available for customers to use. I can manage, yet there are older, elderly, some parents with minor children and or babies, etc, that can't be walking around the lot to find a cart. HOW IS THIS GOOD...
Read moreIf you are on a time crunch do not go to this Bjs. Spent an hour trying to renew my membership to find out in the end that I am unable to renew my membership for not being the main member. Came in first to Customer service too pay for the renewal, told by management that I needed to renew on the cashier food line. So, I went shopping then waited on the cashier food line to be told by associates that I can not pay at the register need to pay at customer service. Had to get off the scanner with my food to wait on the customer service line with my full cart of food. To then be told that I cannot pay for the membership due to the main person on the card has not paid there card. Then waited again on the cashier food line for an available register. To use someone else bjs card that ended up not working. In the end was only able to checkout from an associate scanning there card from seeing me swung around like a ping pong ball for the past hour. Thank you, for making wait on many different lines to find this out in the end. Best part was that this customer service came from the manager itself named Dippy, I believe as told by an associate. I have then called cooperate on this issue/concern and was only given an apology...
