I have been eating in this establishment off and on since the first days of them opening. Everything was fine, the food, the service, and the price...

Unfortunately my last couple of visits did not meet up to expectations... 99.99% of the time I order the same three items. Soft Tacos, Steak quesadillas, or the Steak nachos.... On each occasion the food was bland and missing the usual good taste. Other occasions the food was cold, missing the sauce and sour cream, and once the cheese in the quesadilla was bad.. You could taste the sourness of the spoiled cheese.. The prices are constantly going up and the quality and quantity are going down.. My first guess is they sold out....... There is another Mexican place in Baldwin that serves the exact poor quality bland food.... Wonder if it’s the same owner? Needless to say, I will not be going back. Such a shame too, The First Tortilla Grill was really good for a really long time. But complacency and greed for a bigger profit got in the way. And now there just another restaurant I have to cross...

Really great food. Years ago, I was very skeptical about this place because it’s run by the same people who run the Chinese food place across the street. But, I was wrong. This place is really great. The food is delicious. I love the Shrimp Tostada salad. The Chicken Burrito is really delicious. Very ample portions. I recommend that you call in your order before you pick it up because everything is made to order, so you’ll be waiting a while if you just walk up and order at the counter. Remember to ask them for the condiments that you want because they are not generous with salsa or sour cream. Everything here is very good though. Parking is almost impossible in front of this place. Ok, 2 things. This is my first time ordering from this establishment. 1. Nowhere on this planet has guacamole or avacodo has ever been this color of green, I mean ever! I'm not sure avacodo is invoved in this process at all. 2. Food is just ok, listen this not a racist statement but Asians should not do Mexican and Mexican should not do egg foo young, again just saying. I've lived in NY for a long time but also was born in Texas, and lived in Tucson, AZ, and San Diego. One thing is New Yorkers know absolutely nothing about good Mexican food . Nor do the people in the places I lived know anything about good Italian, or awesome Japanese, or Chinese food. So make an informed decision! FYI the south shore of L. I. is in desperate need of quality...
