I recently visited Bonefish Bar and Grill in Rockville Center, New York, thanks to a gift card, and let me tell you, it was the incredible customer service that will keep me coming back! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and an inviting atmosphere. I was promptly seated and welcomed with water, table bread, and this amazing herbed olive oil that I absolutely have to go back for.
Starting with the Bang Bang Shrimp, a staple that you just can’t miss, my meal only got better from there. The calamari was seasoned and fried to perfection, served with a delightful aioli. The summer special ceviche was another standout, with crisp tortilla chips and a perfect balance of acidity and seafood.
For entrees, I recommend trying what’s in season. This time, I had the wood plank salmon with French fries and Brussel Sprouts, and the seared scallops with jasmine rice. The salmon was cooked to perfection, topped with a creamy crab and spinach mixture, and the Brussel Sprouts were perfectly crispy tossed in a slight glaze that will send you to the moon. The scallops were seared beautifully, paired with bacon and feta crumbles, and the jasmine rice complemented them well.
Dessert was the cherry on top. The seasonal Drunken Coconut Pie was like an upgraded version of Entenmann’s coconut cream pie, warm with delicious bourbon sauce and a healthy amount of coconut bits that had me feeling like I was on a tropical island. But the star of the show was the key lime cake. It had a perfect balance of sweet and salty, with a cream cheese frosting and coconut flakes, served with a swirl of whipped cream. It was so good, I ordered another slice to go, dont judge me!.
Special shoutout to our server, Jada, who went above and beyond, and to the rest of the team who provided hands-on service. There is a culture of teamwork that is evident throughout your dining experience. Even when there was an issue with my card and their terminal, the manager swiftly resolved it and even gave me a free appetizer card for my troubles.
To drink, we recommend the Pina Colada. Although it wasn't frozen as they do not serve frozen drinks, it sure was tasty and came with a cute garnish. They also have a variety of soft drinks with FREE refills. There's a large variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages including a passion fruit rum punch that we heard was great.
Overall, Bonefish Bar and Grill offers a mom-and-pop feel with delicious food and top-notch service. So next time you’re in Rockville Center, or even if you’re not, head over to Bonefish Bar and Grill. You won’t regret it! Oh, and don’t skip the bread and oil dip...
Read moreIf you've ever heard of the phrase "appearances are deceiving," well I was. I went out for dinner Sunday, night and thought this place was all I saw from outside and on the menu. However, I was very dissatisfied with out waitress and the food. We ordered champagne and my boyfriend had a beer. The waitress brought me my champagne 5 minutes after without a glass to pour it in and did bother to open it either. My boyfriend's beer didn't arrive till like anothe 5 minutes after i had to remind her to bring his drink. 20 minutes passed we see other people getting serve bread I had to ask her to bring bread out to our table. To top it off she brought the bread out as they had also fired out the appetizers we'd ordered. Smh!!! We ate our appetizers and our waitress decides to bring out our main courses with a table filled with plates and no room to place the main courses. I had to tell her to remove the plates that were used for room. I mean it's common sense that any waitress has to serve their customer bread right after you take their drink order and you remove the used up plates before firing any courses. You don't need to work in fine dining to know these basic concepts. Plus she was also serving a table next to us of like about 12-14 people. That is poor management because she couldn't handle two people nonetheless how can she serve a bigger table. I felt like I hired a sitter for a nice time out, but I was out serving ourselves like home and cleaning up after my family. I felt like I gave away money for free. I had a very awful dinning experience. This place reminds of those red lobster places trying to serve decent food but with no concept of customer service, dinning, class and respect, and the food was dry. I mean unless you ordered breaded lobster who serves dry lobster tails with cold butter. Very disappointing!!! I'll never go there and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I've lived in this neighborhood for most of my life and hope we can continue to have classy places to eat without traveling far out. What his becoming...
Read moreOrdered curbside takeout ..added 10.00 tip figured I’m not getting out of car , got time for eta via text , got to resturant was in parking lot , no signs for curbside pickup , waiting to see person or get text , waited 10 minutes went inside , tried getting help told go wait by kitchen entrance pickup area , finally lady came and order was just sitting there . When I told her I picked curbside pickup and was waiting for a while she looked at me, like I had horns coming out of my head and just said well here it is, and hand me the bags no sorry for the misunderstanding nothing……. so now I come home I got their special crab meat and avocado salad. Well, I think I need a magnifying glass to find the crab meat. It’s basically just a container of spinach leaves and some corn and a couple little pieces of avocado there was maybe tops a tablespoon of mini slivers of crab meat I also got the kids mac & cheese, very watery and the pasta undercooked. I got the filet mignon with the rice and asparagus with shrimp and scallops. I’ve had bay scallops before, but the scallops and shrimp were extremely small and rubbery and honestly like they were frozen, not even fresh basically I think the only thing good out of the whole meal was the rice and asparagus with the steak and the french fries everything else not even close to worth the money and the service not good for my standpoint is the second time I’ve been to this location one of the time I did pick up and both times I’ve noticed there’s an extreme amount of employees upfront by the bar and reception area but yet whoever will eventually say hello to you seems it’s never the person that’s going to take care of you and there’s lots of them just standing around chitchatting …… So I would say it’s a hard pass and I don’t think I’ll be going there again For this money and this food quality and the...
