Shew this is going to be a long review but please bear with me. My family of five and I wanted to go out for Saturday breakfast, when we found the only local Cracker Barrel to be completely packed, we decided to look for a local breakfast place, and we found The original Steveās diner. This diner is located in a shopping strip, So as you can imagine, itās relatively small. Upon arrival, it was around 11 oāclock, I entered and was told that the wait time was about 20 minutes, however, there were several individuals outside waiting to be seated. It was a little over 20 minutes before we were sat down, and we were not immediately greeted by our waiter. When our waiter arrived, He was quick to get us our beverages but then disappeared for quite some time before coming to take our food order. We witnessed several tables seated after us promptly greeted by their sever and then receive their food before we did. From the time we were sat down until the time we received our food it was roughly 40 minutes. iām not sure if we had a new server or what because the other servers were moving rather quickly and turning tables, a few individuals who were seated at the same time as us had already left, and the table was reset before we even got to finish our meal. All that to say, our server was A very nice man, and he kept our drinks full.
Now, as far as the food, it was absolutely worth the wait, we were all extremely happy with our meals, the size of the pancakes was quite a sight, and the children were pleased. Iām very picky with my coffee and typical diner Coffee is not very good but itās coffee, nonetheless however, Iām not sure which brand they use here but it was delicious. It was robust flavorful coffee. Despite the wait, will definitely be returning, the menu is absolutely massive, and we each have our own list of things we...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIdk what the problem was today but the experience I just had was horrible. My omelette had raw veggies in it (literally not cooked even a little). We were never checked on to see how our food was. Our coffee was never refilled, not even once. Once our server finally came to see how our food was (probably 15 minutes after initial drop off) I told her my food wasn't cooked and she said she'd get a manager. No manager came over, only about 10 minutes later, after our table had been bussed while we were still sitting there (because they're trying to flip tables quickly) did our server come back with the check saying that they took my meal off the ticket. At that point I'm livid because I feel like they were just trying to brush it under the table and get us out. I went to the counter to speak to the manager and she tells me they never cook the veggies before putting them in their omelettes, that she has to specifically request that the chefs cook her veggies when she orders food here. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! You have to REQUEST that your food gets cooked before it's served to you?!
I've eaten the food here before and it's never been this gross, and the way it was handled wasn't appropriate either. I get places get busy, I've worked food service all my life, but there's ALWAYS someone you can ask for help. There were PLENTY of servers/buss folks standing around, ask someone to check on your table, or go refill the coffee... You can't tell your customers "Sorry, we were really busy" when your customers are sitting there watching people just stand around...
SUCH a bummer that this happened because past experiences were awesome, but today sucked so bad, we won't...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWeāve been loyal customers of Steveās Diner. Today at the Henrietta branch was quite disturbing and disappointing. I met a friend for brunch at 11:35 ish. She had been seated although she hadnāt asked to be seated and the sign states that they will seat you when your entire party has arrived. Ok. My lunch mate left work @ 11:00 and arrived at Steveās (again Henrietta) @ 11:25. The times are important because at 12:50 the hostess came to our table and told us to leave because they needed the table for people waiting. On my way to the ladies room I count 7 booths and 4 tables completely empty and cleaned. I stopped by our waitress snd asked if she could explain why we were being asked to leave when clearly no one was waiting and there were many open places for seating. She told us that we had been there for two hours and they have to ask us to leave after that time. I pointed out that 11:40 to12:50 is not two hours. She said because my friend sat down early that it was two hours. We left and would have done if people were waiting. There were more wait staff than customers. I understand the bottom line is getting edgier. I know people are stressed. What did this accomplish? We have never received such treatment anywhere. Do you think we will patronize this establishment again? Do you think we will let people know how we were treated. So how does that improve the...
