Was out at a Dr.s office in the area and needed to find a nice place to get some food. Found Susan's Kitchen by accident after reviewing several other eateries in the area and not finding anything appealing. The location is in an office building on the second floor and is kind of off the usual path unless you know where to look for it. I recommend you take the time and go find it. The way things are done there is much different from most places you can eat at these days. The food is fresh, tasty and appealing to look at. The home fries I ordered were delicious and came on a plate that could have been on the cover of a gourmet dining magazine. They were seasoned perfectly and had some small pieces of onion and green and red pepper tossed in. All the food was like a throwback to coffee shops and lunchonetts from many years ago, when people still cared about the quality and prices of the food they served to the public. This was a great eating experience and I will return again when I am in the area. I highly recommend this place to anyone who expects to get good tasting, fresh quality food, good service and a reasonPpppppable price. The ownero himself served us and hell was very knowledgeable, helpful and a pleasure to talk to. We left there pleasantly satisfied and was given a fresh homemade oatmeal cookie to take with us. Nobody does things like that anymore no matter...
Read moreWe had a marvelous first-time breakfast here yesterday and can’t stop talking about it. My parents were visiting from out of town (a rare weekday trip), so we took advantage of the Friday morning to finally check out Susan’s Kitchen — and wow, are we glad we did.
The food was fantastic — the French toast was among the best I’ve ever had, the coffee was excellent, and even our toddler (a notoriously picky eater) devoured the açaí bowl. But what really made the experience unforgettable was Andrew, Susan’s “better half” and co-owner. He might be the friendliest person I’ve ever met in Great Neck.
He made us feel like family — sharing photos of his granddaughter (who happens to share a name with our daughter!), swapping stories about Iceland when he heard about my parents’ upcoming trip, and even offering our toddler a free popsicle from the freezer. It was that rare kind of warmth and hospitality that you just don’t get many places anymore.
They’re open for both breakfast and lunch on weekdays, and the café is located on the second floor of the building. It’s easy to miss if you’re not looking for it — but absolutely...

This place IS A HIDDEN GEM. Not only the food is delicious, everyone here was super friendly!
I ordered Turkey melt, TUNA MELT (!!!), Chicken Caesar wrap, Roast Beef wrap, grilled cheese, and Scrambled eggs for a small bday party. Everyone loved the food and many asked me where I ordered from.
Especially the Tuna melt. Which I ordered because Susan recommended it herself! They also have amazing cookies!
Susan's Kitchen is located in an office building, made it a little hard to find, in my opinion. My husband and I were confused whether or not we were allowed to park in the parking lot of the building.
5 star for the food and amazing service. Highly recommended. Definitely...
