I was excited to try this closer to home spot for some time. Running errands, I decided to treat myself. I walked in and was immediately given 'a look' by multiple employees. Excited for my meal, I walked up and acted my friendliest. I asked how many samosa in an order and the employee misunderstood despite great English. I even apologized to him about his misunderstanding my question after 4 times and laughed it off with a smile. I quickly chose a chicken gyro because he seemed very frustrated/annoyed with me. It almost seemed like he was purposely misunderstanding me to seem agitated, and perhaps hoped I would give up and leave. He took the order and sternly TOLD me to take a seat... (2 other people eating in restaurant far from counter). He also TOLD me I'd be taking my food to-go (there were only two other customers in the whole place, both were male.) THE FOOD WAS DISGUSTING. I truly don't understand how one could sell it, let alone who is rating them well!?! I THREW IT AWAY IMMEDIATELY. Ranch like dressing, brown yucky off tasting lettuce, mushy bell peppers!?!?, SOMETHING NO ONE SHOULD CALL CHICKEN, and a few red onion slices in a pita. I WILL NEVER GO BACK AND URGE YOU TO SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. For the record I spent over a decade in fine dining, so I am very understanding toward food service mishaps, and I am bummed I don't have a new chaat/falafel/samosa/gyro...
Read moreFirst, I wish I had taken the picture before trying a little bit of everything. The masala fries are amazing. Who would think? They're just bursting with delicious flavor sprinkled over crispy fried perfection. We could not stop eating them! Savory, sweet and spicy all at once, what a journey. An approachable snack holding all the great taste. The falafel over rice was wonderful. Great seasoning on the rice and loaded into the falafel too. Nicely crunchy exterior and soft insides, the way they were intended to be. The sauce is so dilly and flavorful as well, the whole dish is a journey. It's well made when the sauce doesn't sog the falafel! The lassi is also a treat. Sweet and full of mango flavor, this is a must! There are a lot of items on this menu that will be tested in the time to come! Thank you for a great...
Read moreQueensbury gem! We stopped here for some halal food while visiting friends in the capital region. Atmosphere: The interior was clean and inviting, including the open and immaculate kitchen. Service: The family running the restaurant were all super friendly, and we had a nice chat while we waited for our food. The food: Yum! We had a big group so I had the chance to try most items including the gyro and rice platters, as well as the pub fare (popcorn chicken, pizza, fries) ordered by the kids. But my favorite by far was the samosa chaat, it was incredible. The masala fries were delicious too. Everything was well seasoned, tender, crispy and truly my mouth is watering just writing this review. We left agreeing with friends that next time we're just...
