I’ve had the worst experience with Kay. I’m now 26 days away from my wedding and don’t have a ring in wearable condition. Most recently, they soldered my bands to my engagement ring. The bands do not line up/ are not flush to the ring, one looks bent. They also left a weld blast mark on my engagement ring which can be seen with the naked eye. We have spent over $7,000 at this store only for them to ruin my ring & have zero attention to detail. We have also purchased their offered “warranties”
We took the ring to a local jeweler who said they’ve never seen a weld blast like that and the metal doesn’t even look like real gold. I am completely and utterly devastated.
Update: we took the ring back to Kay for repair & to have the bands removed since clearly they were incapable of having them aligned and resized properly. Today, 9/16/15, I received my ring back with the bands removed as requested. According to the store associate today: “Store manager Jody did not take good notes for the Jeweler so the weld blast was not fixed” even thought we made it very clear this needed to be done.
Jody is out of the office this week at a “managers conference.” The store associate did not offer us any form of reconciliation, any form of expedited shipping, refund or replacement of the band they damaged.
The weld blast looks even worse than it did before. Now I’m 2 weeks away from my wedding with no time to have it shipped out AGAIN nor do I trust Kay or the “jeweler” they use to repair the band.
I am devastated my fiancé and I wasted $7k at this store to have my ring ruined entirely 2 weeks out from my wedding. Now , I’m left with a damaged engagement ring, and 2 wedding bands (one bent) that are useless
I will NEVER return to this store or trust Kay EVER again. This is absolutely...
Read moreOn Monday, December 11th, I went into Kay Jewelers to exchange a necklace I had previously purchased for a nicer one. There was a difference to pay from the exchange so I put my card in to pay. On the first attempt, I had a short conversation with the sales associate/manager which distracted her and caused the transaction to time out. I was asked to try inserting my card again so I did. I was then told that if there was a double charge, the first one would be dropped. Well, fast forward to Wednesday, December 13th and both of the pending charges from the single transaction both turned to posted charges. I immediately called Jody F., their manager, and informed her of my situation. I even went in to show her my bank statement. With this, she called the accounting or some other department within Kays and explained the situation. They gave her a customer service email to give to me so I could send them proof of the double charge to my account with screenshots from my bank statements (because they only see one charge on their end). Anyways, it is now January 3rd and I still have not received my refund. I've had several phone calls with Jody, sent proof of my double charge, and called the customer service line with my case # and still no progress. I feel like I've been incredibly patient throughout this process, and I would argue that Jody has also been very understanding and helpful throughout this process. However, I'm still absolutely dumbfounded as to why Kay Jewelers is taking so long to refund my small amount of $75.96 when I have hard proof that I was erroneously charged twice. To add salt to the wound, I've literally purchased every piece of jewelry that I've gifted to my significant other from Kay Jewelers, so for me to be ignored like this is really...
Read moreMy husband and I had a terrible experience at the Kay Jewelers in Rib Mountain. We purchased our wedding bands here on 5/31/25 with Moira, whose service already felt rushed and dismissive. She told us we could resize my Neil Lane band and solder it to my engagement ring after the wedding.
When we came back on 7/5/25, Moira acted annoyed, couldn’t find our $3,000 purchase in the system, and treated us like we didn’t belong there. She tested my engagement ring without explanation, then told me in a snotty tone it was “moissanite,” dismissing my husband when he explained it was a lab-grown diamond. We later provided official IGI certification proving it was a lab-grown diamond, and she still brushed us off and even implied my husband was scammed. To make it worse, she falsely told us soldering could cause my ring to “melt.”
When I returned, the assistant manager, Von, was just as unprofessional. She contradicted herself, refused to properly examine the ring, and even said she “might” help me if I were more respectful. Both she and Moira were condescending and dismissive, making what should have been a happy newlywed time incredibly stressful.
Customer service by phone offered no solutions since we were just past the 30-day return window and told us to “try another Kay location.” Eventually, the store manager confirmed my ring was a lab-grown diamond and had the bands soldered, but by then the damage was done.
This location ruined what should have been a joyful experience. I will NEVER shop here again and strongly recommend others look elsewhere for jewelry. If 0 stars were an option that's what this review...
