Kind of disappointed when we came Here because I go all the time , pulled up around 10 last night as the bar said it closes 12 then put in our orders for the drinks there was a French lady I believe serving us I forgot the name but she was the only person working left other than the bartender , the service was not at all too great I mean it’s dead ppl wana go home but as a business owner I’ll never show my clients I’m that tired or I wana leave , she then came For last rounds / call( mind you they never gave a notice that they was closing early ) so my friend and I put our orders in clearly that we wanted a drink , anyways the bill comes and it was literally ONE round of drinks plus 1, BOOM $111 dollars ( still didn’t bring my drink but said no more they closing out with attitude ,when I clearly said I wanted one because my friend drink came ,like tf 0.0 THATS fine okay we still paid on cash and have like $10 , it sucks for where the tipping culture reach so this lady gets pissed off and start talking mad crazy oh you no in the United States you tip 20% insinuated we’re not from here ( local LI ppl btw ) off of one rounds and no good customer service like there was a whole argument it was crazy ! She speaks more French in her English than English but tryna make US feel bad to tip her crazyyy on bad customer service , I understand if we didn’t tip her at all that’s unfair but jeez the treatment was so horrible after that I wish up there was a record of the conversation, management needs to teach employees to respect customers and put a smile on their face maybe they would have gotten tip better . Definitely disappointed as...

Similar to other folks, we just had a really lousy experience because of the server. She was a young French-speaking woman with glasses; a little clueless and with way too much attitude. We are well-traveled foodies, and have dealt with attitude plenty in the past. If the food and drinks are good, it can be managed. But this was almost comical. She would insist that certain wines weren't available, even though we saw the bottles sitting in the wine cooler on the bar; she'd leave our bottle sitting in a cooler and disappear while our glasses sat empty; she'd go to the other side of the restaurant and start setting up empty tables (the place was at most a third full), instead of bringing us our next course. The lunch dragged on for over two hours because she was so slow and indifferent. And just a bad attitude.
Based on our experience, and the other reviews, they really don't seem to care. I can't understand this, as a fellow business owner. The prices are high, and there are too many other great places to eat in Sag Harbor and the other villages. We've owned a home in the area for 15 years, and have seen a lot of places come and go; it's a competitive market. Unless these guys can turn it around, I'll be they're gone...
Read moreI was celebrating a special occasion with my girlfriend and friends from the United States at your bistro. The chef’s food was outstanding, and the welcome we received at the entrance was very warm. However, the woman who took our orders was quite unpleasant. We arrived at 6:07 for our 6:00 reservation, and she informed us that we had to leave by 7:30 due to full reservations, despite having made a prior booking. This was the first time I’ve ever encountered a restaurant that imposed time limits on our stay.
One of my friends ordered a Classic Martini, which is typically made with gin, but this lady asked him what type of alcohol he wanted—vodka, tequila, or rum. It was quite disconcerting to see his reaction. Her demeanor towards us was very unwelcoming, and I can’t recall her name since she never introduced herself. I had hoped to share French culture with my friends through its cuisine, but they were so put off by the service that one of them chose not to order any food at all.
Perhaps her attitude towards me was influenced by my Hispanic background, but I take pride in being French, and I’ve never experienced such treatment in my own country or in any other restaurant in America.
In summary, I recommend your bistro for its delicious food, reminiscent of what we have in Paris, but I urge you to enhance the quality of service, regardless of a person’s background. Everyone deserves to be treated...
