I’ve been here in both the afternoon and evening! I’ve tried most of the dishes on the menu plus their extended menu on the specials board and all have been fantastic. One of my favorites is the Animal fries that is a play on a traditional poutine. If you go in the afternoon, you can expect chill vibes and usually a game or two on the screens. Not too loud so you can hear your friends and hold conversation all the while getting some natural sunlight if the sun is present. They have 3 different rooms that all have unique ambiance’s in their own respective needs! Sometimes you can even catch live music during the day! The service is exceptional! Not too attentive to keep the relaxed vacay vibes, but also meaningful attentiveness. The nightlife is a blast. Usually a fun, but classy crowd with elevated up-lighting, live entertainment, and energetic bar staff. Usually a mingling, but also bring your friends and meet up kind of scene! Would 100% recommend as an all around dining, social, and fun experience!

Lunch we ordered the chicken tenders and animal Fritas and they were both amazing. Tenders looked really good and I was shocked that they tasted better than they looked. Moist and still steaming when we cut into them. Their version of the loaded fries with short rib beef was perfectly seasoned and while each ingredient can stand on its own together they are a special experience. They have a limited menu but what they have they do well, with daily specials that are not on the menu. Service from Aerial was friendly, prompt and professional. Great open air atmosphere even in winter with the glass ceiling.

As a Traverse City local and a regular at North Bar, I can't recommend this spot enough! The rotating seasonal cocktails are always a highlight, keeping things fresh and exciting with every visit. The staff here is simply amazing—friendly, knowledgeable, and always making you feel welcome. Whether I'm popping in for a casual drink or meeting up with friends, the atmosphere is always spot-on, offering just the right vibe for any occasion. North Bar has become my go-to, and I’m always looking forward to the next visit. If you're in TC, you absolutely need to check it out!

I had my eye on this rooftop bar last year when we came up so i HAD to try it out today… we will not be returning for probably too many reasons to even list.

As someone who has worked in the industry my whole life i know that i have a disgustingly high expectation when i go out to eat. But i also know where to set the bar at certain places. I didn’t have HUGE expectations for this place. Just good service and hot, edible food that didn’t take too long lol. The only thing that hit the mark was that the food was very good, fresh, elevated bar food. And that’s the only positive i can contribute to this review.

We sat, were greeted after what seemed a majority of the lunch crowd had left and the dining room had maybe 3 or 4 other tables filled, and our server Lily seemed nice but very quiet. With the volume of the music in the background we could barely hear what she was saying. She brought our drinks in a timely manner and took our orders.

We ordered a smash burger, a salad, chicken tenders, chicken sandwich, and pot stickers… LITERALLY all simple bar food that should take no longer than 25 minutes even if the kitchen was busy. Mind you we were the only new table as i said. The only other table that sat around the same time as us ordered all burgers and a salad.. i know this because they sat right next to us and got their food before us even tho we sat and ordered before them. There is no reason at all even if ONE person was cooking our food that it would take 50 minutes to make food that 75% of was dropped into a deep fryer. I can’t express enough how much it bothers me knowing how simple it is to cook what we ordered.

No one said anything to us until we had waited over 35 minutes already… weren’t offering any drink refills just that the manager was in the kitchen helping the staff cook our order as if we were a 15 top or something. Not a single thing was modified we ordered 6 items… and your kitchen crashed? Cuz what… they had to make 4 more burger and a salad on top of that for the other table? It was a point in the wait that i wanted to ask if they needed help….

But then when the “manager” who never introduced himself came to the table acting like he had a Superman cape on told me he was back there “grinding out our orders with the guys” i said… oh i see the issue… there is no manager here. He wasn’t professional, there was absolutely no attempt for a recovery… pretty sure he doesn’t even know what recovery is in the restaurant industry because this man couldn’t have ever actually had proper training.

When he brought my daughter’s chicken tenders he set her plate down and her ranch spilled through the holes in the table onto the floor. He said nothing.. came back with my salad and we asked for some extra napkins and my son asked for more water and his sly response to everything we asked for… as if we were inconveniencing him told me everything i needed to know… we quickly ate our food and left and will never be returning. He never checked on us after we started to eat… because I’m sure he just had more important things to do… we’ll wait for Amical to...

If there was a negative star I would use it Arrived 30 minutes until the food service started at 4 p-m which was fine. Waitress said she would be back to take our orders at 4 pm We had a drink which was good but watered down a bit. Waitress took our order. I ordered shrimp my wife fried green tomatoes plus a beets appetizer. Beets and tomatoes are their mainstay all over the menu. Waited about 20 minutes then the waitress came back and said we are out of tomatoes and Beets!!!! She became rude when we asked why she did not tell us the outset, saying "well are cooks are overworked " which made no sense. We then asked to talk to the manager who was no better. Could not explain why the shortage or why we had not been told before we ordered which they must have known. Wanted us to order drinks I suspect. He said well I removed the shrimp from your bill which was a given since we were leaving. Asked that drinks be discounted.... no way. When I told him if this is the way he treats his customers he will not be in business in a year, which he retorted "well I am a co owner of three enterprises In TC" as if that was important. Just means to me all 3 will fail. We left. Come to find out that the same thing happened on their opening night !!!!

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OF MONEY HERE ... WE WENT TO POPPY COCKS AND HAD...

This one star review is not based on my interactions. My wife and I got a drink at the bar, were served the drinks and then asked if we would like to leave a tab open. I told the server no, please run it now. She did and it was fine. We went and sat down and another server came and asked us if we would like anything else. We ordered a round of shots, had them brought to us and then again were asked if we would like to open a tab or run the card. Again I had it ran. We met another couple and they came and sat with us and I ordered a round of shots for all of us. Drinks were brought to us and then again I paid. When the man from the couple we met asked to order a round of shots the server told him that they needed to be paid for first before they would be brought out, this was “policy”. He made no fuss and told her sure. I ordered another round later and was not told I needed to pay first and was brought the drinks and then asked to pay.

Very clearly there was a prejudice towards who was being served since the only one required to pay upfront was a black man.

If you’re not white I would be prepared to have a different experience than any white...
