I’m not sure where are the good reviews came from…the food was okay. I had the breakfast sandwich. The aioli was basically mayo. I ate the egg off of my sandwich and some of the croissant. My daughter had pancakes which were fine. I had a few bites of that as well. Seating was limited which is to be expected, but I ended up sitting in the back outside. I had to go back inside to pick up my drink. My daughter needs some help walking on uneven surfaces so I had to leave her to go get my drink. There was a note on the table to bus your own. That’s fine but I didn’t see where I was supposed to put my trash and dishes. I found it up at the front of the restaurant, a ways from where we were sitting. This was difficult because I was alone with my daughter who is disabled. I took her to the top and had her wait while I grabbed our dishes. We were also on our way home so I wanted to use the restroom before leaving. There was a wait which isn’t the restaurants fault but the line was right by another busing area so I stood waiting for the bathroom with my daughter for twenty minutes right next to a huge garbage can full of food. Kind of gross right after eating. I spent $41 for my 10 year old and myself and we used plastic forks. There was no hot sauce or anything on the table for the potatoes. I guess I could’ve asked but no one ever came by and I didn’t want to leave my daughter alone again to go ask. I was really hoping to have an enjoyable brunch with my daughter after her horseback riding lesson and was really...
Read moreThere's so much to love about this place. The pastries look delightful and the staff are friendly. They have some tables with umbrellas outside and a couple inside.
I would go back for pastries any day but this was my first time going for cooked food and I hate to admit that the breakfast sandwich I got was so-so. I had really high hopes based on the food I was seeing. The sandwich arrived and it was pretty sad ... A lot of focaccia, with two tiny slices of tomato, half an avocado (totally great!) but only one little egg. I think it definitely called for two eggs! Maybe some arugula? More tomato for sure. Some cheese? Something.... The ratio of filling to bread was way off.... And at $16 if hope for two eggs at least. It did come with some potato crisps which were delightful. Would for sure go back for those! But would not recommend the breakfast sando. Other items...
Read moreDo you want local, high quality food? The best way to describe this new kitchen is that they treat food full of integrity, and because of that it’s one of the best local breakfast/brunch/lunch in all of Tahoe. They treat each dish particularly and we are very impressed with the high quality and attention to detail for each food item. This kitchen would challenge any boutique breakfast/brunch spot in the Bay Area, but we now have it here in Truckee. One of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had and by far the best potatoes (which come on the side with every breakfast sandwich). Come check this place out and let’s keep this wonderful spot around because they deserve...
