First let me address prices, I have seen a few reviews stating the prices are high. I find that the prices are very much in line with other local Chinese take-out restaurants and even possibly cheaper if you hit the lunch or dinner special.
With that said, be prepared to shell out .30 cents for a cup of ice water and to almost pay full price for a soda refill. (Soda fountain is not help yourself, it stays locked with a key and the same with the water).
I had the dinner special.(what makes it the D.Special is you get fried rice instead of white and an egg roll) The price was the same as a regular dinner, after tax $9.08
You get what you pay for with the portions. You receive your meal in the typical Styrofoam meat and two clam shell. My rice completely covered half of the entire container, filling both (side sections) and was Stacked about 1/2 inches higher than the insideof the box. My meat, (Gen Tso's) filled the opposite side completely and was stacked just as high as the rice. My friend ordered another type of meat, and it was presented the same way. Both dinners were fresh and very good. They tasted like what typical Americans think Chinese food should taste like, but I would say it is always better than the average and definitely better than the local compeditors. We also ordered gyosa (dumplings / pot stickers) and they were piping hot and very delicious. (1)D-Special + geosa = $15.45
On the down side, the egg roll was terrible and about 1/2 the size of a traditional buffet style egg roll (about the size of a mini spring roll). The chilli sauce was overly oily and bitter with no spiciness or flavor at all (think red pepper shaker from a pizza restaurant mixed with oil).
The restaurant is family owned/run. The parents run the kitchen and the two children run the front (brother/sister). Everyone is always very polite and helpful. The restuarant itself always seems clean and orderly.
Overall, I think this is a great place to come for fast Americanized Chinese food. It is better than average and beats out the competition with ease. If you have a $10 spot burning a hole in your pocket , you...
Read moreI went to this restaurant last night for the first time and ordered General style chicken, House Loman, steam dumplings and beef with broccoli. The food taste very bland, when I ordered it over the phone the CSR said give them 10 minutes and then come to the window. I also didn’t feel comfortable giving my credit card info over the phone. I waited outside for 25 minutes with a total experience time of 35 minutes. The CSR wasn’t friendly at all and there sanitation isn’t up to par. I asked for extra sauce and he put it in the money slot. The CSR constantly touches mask and never washes his hands. Just not a good first experience. I...
Read moreThey still have very firm covid-19 precautions in place so there is no in- restaurant dining. Having said that, I called the other night to order food for our son-in-law's birthday dinner, and I could not reach them (got a 'full voice mail' message) And here's the measure of what great people they are to work with: They called ME back to get my order. The food was great, and they are always a pleasure to work with. They are our go-to for Chinese food. On a practical note, parking is good, flat, pretty easy to get in and...
