Let me start this off by saying the food was OK in flavor, but the quantity of food that you get for how much you pay is not worth it. The service was slow, and if you were going to charge me this much for this amount of food, it is not worth it. For lunch special only rice and chicken, no veggies and nothing special to it. If you're looking for some good teriyaki go to Mashitas, and if you're looking for a good poke try Sherwood or The food carts in Beaverton. I love to support small Asian businesses but this was not it.
The poke only looks this good because I kept asking for more of this and that because they would just give me a pinch of every topping. For $17 you can get two bowls add a better place. We only came to this location because it was convenient and wanted to try something new. Now we wish we went somewhere else. It wasn't worth the convenience, now it's an inconvenience having to write...
Read moreThe food at Joy Teriyaki & Poke has consistently been excellent, and I appreciate the quality of the dishes. However, on my recent visit on March 28th, 2025, at approximately 6:30 PM, I experienced some issues with the service. The young man behind the counter made minimal eye contact, his tone was curt, and he sighed audibly when asked a question. He also seemed visibly frustrated while taking a phone order. While I understand that working in customer service can be challenging, the employee's demeanor made me feel unwelcome and significantly detracted from the overall dining experience. As a frequent Joy Teriyaki & Poke customer for several years, I've generally had positive experiences. Still, this recent incident, coupled with other similar occurrences, has led me to reconsider my patronage. Additional training on customer service best practices could help ensure a more positive experience for...
Read moreWas excited to see another poke option close to Tigard but.... Meh. Won't be going back. SERIOUSLY small portions compared to other poke bars. Two small scoops of rice, limited to TWO add-ins -- how much would another scoop of rice or edamame cost them? 5¢? Worth the splurge on their part to not leave the packaging looking so empty! Tuna & salmon was good quality for poke but really big cuts which made it awkward to eat. The ponzu sauces were watery and clear which is never a good sign. Shrimp clearly frozen with a couple errant tails left on (which is fine, but either do all or nothing -- nothing like thinking they're all tailless and biting into one that isn't). Will just keep making the drive to Poke Makana because for the same $12.99, you can fill your bowl up with all the edamame, seaweed salad, AND fake crab mix you want, with double the rice and/or mixed...
