Sorry the photo doesn't do the food much justice. I ordered the Loco Moco and it was great and their mac salad is quite literally the best I've ever had. Admittedly I'm not a big fan of macaroni salad but I actively loved it. If I weren't full, I probably would have seen if I could order a side of it to go.
The only reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because the place is a bit run down, the service took a while, and they messed up our order (a few times by the sounds of the conversation between the front and back of kitchen. It's a somewhat open concept, so you can hear some of their dialogue). We would have given them the opportunity to correct this but it took so long for us to get our order we just rolled with it. My husband (who's order was wrong) was pretty disappointed though. The eggs for my Loco Moco was supposed to be over easy, but it was over medium - bordering on over firm. It's not a big deal, but again, a bit disappointing.
They're running a skeleton crew though due to Covid so I have no doubt that, given the opportunity to recover from that, most of my critiques will be addressed. It's located in a fairly quaint part of town and I suspect is quite bustling during summer months. It's unfortunate it's not closer to Portland/the I-5 as it's not likely we'll visit again. We are from out of town so it's a bit out of the way for the tourists.
I will say, this really reminded me of when I was in Kawaii and had a tasty lunch from a shack in a parking lot. It was awkward to eat, but it was delicious! The only thing this place is missing is...
Read moreI recently ordered the Teriyaki plate lunch from Roxy's, and it was a great experience as always. The plate is packed with delicious teriyaki chicken, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. One of my favorite sides is the mac salad—creamy and just the right amount of tang, making it the perfect complement to the savory chicken. I often come to Roxy's for lunch because it's consistently satisfying.
What I really appreciate about Roxy's is their commitment to offering generous portions at a fair price. You definitely get your money's worth, and it’s one of the best deals in town for a hearty, satisfying meal. The speed of service is also top-notch; even during busy lunch hours, I never have to wait long to get my food.
The people at Roxy's are friendly and laid-back, which adds to the casual, welcoming atmosphere. Whether I'm grabbing lunch on a busy workday or just stopping by for a quick bite, Roxy's always delivers a great meal with a smile. Highly recommend if you're looking for tasty, affordable, and quick...
Read moreOk, look, let's just be really honest. You cannot go to this place without having at least one spam dish. Spam is the star of the show, whether you do spam and eggs, or spam musubi. Yes, I have absolutely had their chicken katsu, and teriyaki chicken, but I always come here for the spam. With a big old pile of white rice to soak up all the amazing sauces, and a scoop of mac salad, you truly cannot go wrong, especially for the price. This is one of my favorite stops for a meal with some of my favorite flavors when visiting family in the area. You can also take your meal and sit by the lake that is right next door, which makes for a very pleasant evening. The staff are somewhat indifferent, but kind and helpful, the music is definitely island- oriented, which is perfect, and you just get an amazing product over...
