I really wanted to like this place. I had not been to a Church's since the late 1980s, back in the San Fernando Valley in California. Actually, I'm not even sure if it's the same franchise, but it looked the same to me.
The décor was nice enough, just about what one might expect in a chicken fast food restaurant. Stepping up to the counter, the staff was less than engaging. Being a brand new franchise, I can understand that with only 2 people running the show, the workload might take a little bit away from the front counter experience.
I don't have extremely complicated expectations. If the food had been amazing, then the appearance and the experience might not have been that big of a deal.
With that said, let's talk about the food. I ordered the 2 piece for my bride, leg, and thigh, requesting the "Spicy" option. For myself, I ordered the 3 piece tender, Original flavor.
My wife indicated that her chicken had no flavor, other than tasting like fried chicken skin. My meal was pretty much the same. It just tasted like chicken tenders…. not even breaded and fried, just chicken. The French fries were amazing: no complaint there. The mashed potatoes and gravy were nothing to write home about.
So, back to the presentation and delivery of the food. I get it, I'm over the hill... But, if you're gonna play music in the lobby of a fast food restaurant, at least have it at a volume that people can actually hear it. I think one of the young men was playing music on his phone from his pocket.
Also, a dress code for employees might improve the experience. The young man who handed me my bag was very nice, and I do not want to seem too harsh. However, he looked like he'd be more suited to fixing my truck than serving my lunch. Loose fitting T-shirt, unshaven, baggy pants, and non-shop ball cap. The only thing missing was a cigarette hanging out of his mouth.
I can't go above 3 stars on the service rating, I just didn't leave there with a feeling of being valued or served. I was given what I asked and paid for, but in my opinion: that is not Customer Service.
With so many options in town, I will just take my business...
Read moreIf I could zero stars I would!! This was the worst experience I’ve ever had with a fast food restaurant. I ordered online then 15 minutes later went to the drive thru to pick up my order because even though their sign on the door said the lobby closes at 8 pm and it was before 6pm the doors were already locked. I wait at the speaker for over 10 minutes then myself and even my 8yr old daughter started saying hello finally someone came on and asked what we wanted. When I mentioned my online order they huffed in disrespect and then said pull to the next window. Then after the car pulled off from in front of me I arrived to the window and they asked me what my order was so then tried to charge me again I said I already paid online. So then they asked me to pull forward I waited another 10 minutes before someone came out and asked me to pull around to the front. I said I’ve been sitting here for almost a half hour what was taking so long the said they had to make more Mac and cheese. I asked if it took 25 minutes to make Mac and cheese. She shrugged her shoulders and walked away back inside the locked door. So I went to the front by then there were 11 cars total some in line and some parking and waiting. There was no other car but the one in front when we first arrived. I called the complaint line cause by then I had been waiting at the restaurant for over 40 minutes and no one came and said anything about being short handed or apologize for the wait or anything. When the girl finally brought my food the complaint line lady was still on the phone and heard the girl say oh sorry we forgot about your order. The order wasn’t even right but I told the complaint line lady I wasn’t going to wait in line to get my missing items. Not only that the chicken strips weren’t cooked all the way and the Mac and cheese wasn’t made right it was super slimy my kids refused to eat it. I will never ever order...
Read moreAfter the last two weeks, I will not be returning to this location. As a busy wife and mother, I chose this location because if the convenience of the drive thru. My husband sends me to Church’s at least once a week for his dinner. 2 weeks ago, I ordered a #4, corn in the cob, large Diet Coke no ice and an apple pie. Get home and the chicken was old and burnt, and they forgot the apple pie. Strike 1.
Last week, I was ordering for him and my son. One # 4 with corn on the cob, large Diet Coke no ice, apple pie. One #3, Mac and cheese and a large sprite. Get home and I have two 3 pieces, 2 corn on the cobs. I had to drive back for 2 tenders and an order of Mac and cheese. Strike 2.
Tonight, pull up to the drive thru. I sat there for 5 minutes (no exaggeration, I’m serious) and no one even said “I’ll be right with you.” I was just ignored the entire time I sat there. There was only one other car in the drive thru, also. So I drove off and went to the one on Golf Links and Kolb.
And this isn’t even all the issues we’ve had at this location. This is just the last 2 weeks. And, believe me, I am not a Karen. I have huge respect for hospitality and restaurant employees. I’m always the first to say “that’s ok” when someone makes a mistake. But when it’s every single time you go to that restaurant, that’s blatant disregard from...
