I have visited the Playground a few times but recently was incredibly disappointed in the dishonest practices they seem to have. I was wrongly charged for my meal, the menu said a lesser price than my bill, and when I said something to my waitress she asked if I wanted her to change it instead of offering to make it right. The change she made was incorrect as well. Instead of ringing up my bill again with the correct price she just subtracted the difference from the bill so the tax was still based on the wrong price not the incorrect price. Upon returning the new receipt she made a rude comment about the small amount I was complaining about. Then, I got a drink upstairs. Their receipt printer was broken, which would normally be fine, but I did not get to sign for the charge and the bartender took it upon herself to give herself a tip. I was told my drink was one amount, I checked my credit card the next day and it was correct. Then a week later upon review of my statement I noticed the charge had increased. I did not sign for the increase and sadly have no way to prove it. I reached out to customer service about this experience and heard nothing back. While the amount of money I am out is not a big deal I am appalled at the dishonesty and attitude of the employees at this business and that I did not receive any sort of communication from management after reaching out. Maybe only pay cash at the Playground, they might...
Read moreGot a bottle and table on the rooftop for a friend's birthday last night and the security spotted me on the dance floor and apparently thought I was too intoxicated, I think more due to the fact that my girlfriend and I were joking around and dance battling and not grinding like the rest of the crowd, so we stood out. I understand security has a job to do and I was about ready to leave myself so I would have gladly walked out with no problem and still left a 5 star review. However the bouncer seemed like he wanted to prove something so he thought it was necessary to grab my arm and drag/push me out to make it seem as if it was some kind of struggle. Security needs to understand that you need to treat your clientele accordingly whether you are bouncing them for being too drunk on the dance floor vs some drunk starting a fight and refusing to leave. I was treated like the latter. Completely unnecessary and if management sees this message I'd recommend vetting your bouncers because some of them seem to be just begging for a customer to misstep so they can justify a fight, and thats going to cause something worse than having no security at all. Aside from the poor security, the decor and design is great and the rooftop experience is something you cant get many other places in Tucson so that deserves a...
Read moreI don't go to the Downtown scene often. I enjoyed the atmosphere at Playground and was having a good time in the V.I.P section that I put money down for up until the point a security guard came up to me telling me I need to leave with no explanation whatsoever. I asked why I needed to leave because I knew I had done nothing wrong, but the security guard wouldn't say and just said you need to leave. I am displeased at this fact. I know I wasn't drunk and like I mentioned I was having a good time connecting with new folks and people I haven't seen in awhile. It is very upseting to me that I had to experience this type of treatment making me feel robbed of my money. A simple explanation would have sufficed but of course I went along with the security guards to avoid a scene. I've been looking at other reviews and see that Playground does a decent job of maintaining a respectable image and I'm sure the incident is a misunderstanding altogether, but as a person that does not go Downtown often this particular experience left me so perplexed. I wish to be able to go back to Playground without experiencing the lack of hospitality from the...
