There’s nothing about this place that sparks joy or excitement. The entertainment is dull, the service is subpar, and both maintenance and management feel like afterthoughts hiding behind excuses. There’s absolutely nothing redeeming about this place. From the moment you walk in, you’re hit with the stench of neglect. Sticky floors, wet patches with no explanation, and an atmosphere that feels more like a rundown alley than a functioning bar. The entertainment is nonexistent, the service is apathetic at best, and management seems to operate on a foundation of excuses rather than solutions.
The bathrooms? Don’t even get me started. A total disgrace. People were openly having sex, using drugs, and staff did nothing about it. It felt more like a lawless dive than an actual business. If there’s any standard of decency or safety here, it’s long since drowned in spilled liquor and poor choices.
In all honesty, this isn’t just a bad bar it’s a health code violation waiting to happen. A complete embarrassment to downtown. Avoid at all costs. Overall, it’s easily the worst bar downtown disappointing on every level.
The staff didn’t just ignore the chaos they seemed almost indifferent to it. It’s hard to tell if they’re undertrained, overwhelmed, or just don’t care. Either way, basic hospitality and cleanliness were completely absent. Tables were left dirty, drinks were watered down, and nobody seemed to know who was actually in charge.
Security was either non-existent or asleep at the wheel. People were walking in and out unchecked, and the crowd felt more like an afterparty gone wrong than any kind of organized venue. There were no visible efforts to maintain order, enforce rules, or protect guests.
Lighting was dim to the point of hiding the filth which I suspect was intentional. The stench from the bathrooms wafted into the main room, and it honestly made me question how this place is still legally operating.
The crowd was loud, unruly, and unsupervised more chaos than community. If you’re looking for a place to relax, socialize, or feel safe, this is the last place I’d recommend. It’s not a bar — it’s a hazard with liquor.

Read moreDangerous location in a dark seedy ally. The bartenders have a bad attitudes especially the one with the redhead very rude. Tried their brunch and it was okay but nothing you can’t do at home or find nearby for a better quality. This place is Expensive for such poor quality food they used basic loaf bread for French toast at first it was a very large plate of about 6 slices. Ordered it again and it was on a very small plate and then missing many ingredients and it was the same price. Tacos are salty and sour from too much pickled onions and they fall apart because the taco shells are not cooked well and they only serve one shell per taco and don’t have salsa at all. Went back again to try their dinner menu A friend tried the ribs they were black and chard and hard as a rock completely inedible. We ordered the flank steak and it was hard as a rock we couldn’t even eat it. The drinks were okay but $15 and up. And the spoon shots were way over rated they taste terrible. For a molecular gastronomy bar they don’t do nearly as much as you would imagine. The Night life gets boring after several hours they only play Reggaeton so if you want to go out and dance to anything else you’ll have to go to IBTs or the Neighborhood. Not to mention they will let just about anyone in this place face tattoos and all especially with the gangs and violence going on they really don’t do their best to protect their patrons. Rumor has it they’ve been featured on TMZ Tucson multiple times for having legal issues in their...
Read moreLove this spot. I was in Tucson recently and stayed at Hotel Congress. After years of going back and forth, I finally decided it was time to propose to my best friend of 23 years. I needed a little space to calm my nerves before asking the biggest question of my life, so I wandered the neighborhood and stumbled into HighWire completely by chance.
Enter Linda. To most people, she’s the bartender. To me? She’s the person who helped change everything. I ordered my go-to, an old fashioned, and it was fantastic. Linda was warm, welcoming, and just had that energy that makes you feel at ease. She checked in with me regularly, and eventually asked what brought me to town. I told her the truth, showed her the ring, and said I was trying to work up the nerve.
What followed was something I’ll never forget. She hyped me up in a way only a total stranger with a big heart can. Pure encouragement, zero judgment. Just what I needed. I closed my tab, thanked her, and walked out of there feeling like a new person.
I proposed that night. She said yes.
Linda: thank you for the boost, the kindness, and the energy. Don’t be surprised if a wedding invite shows up one...
