I normally don't write reviews but I saw this one review as I was reading the review about this place saying it is not authentic or that the other reviews are fake because the person didn't give them napkin so I had to write a review because they seem to be bullying a small business.
I had tried the Bao here and it taste so good that it taste exactly like the Bao I had in Asia so I really enjoy it. For me this is a big compliment, it is hard to find some food that taste just like the one I had in Asia. So, I am not sure what that person means by being not authentic. The place is in an industrial district near the South Center mall, the storefront is like the pick up counter from the mall so it is not a sit down restaurant, in my opinion it make sense for a place just selling Bao, also it is clean and presentable. Read moreThey wont let you watch them make it cuz I bet its all premade days before and then they freeze them. They make the items behind a black curtain so you cant see what theyre doing. They asked me if I wanted frozen or cooked baos. Obviously I can tell its all premade at this point, but gave em a chance. Didnt taste fresh at all. The bun was very dry and the stuffing was soggy (premade buns are like this), bet they microwaved the frozen buns for me as well. Paid a premium price 6.50 per bun, not worth it, trust me. Better to buy frozen pork buns and cook them in the microwave yourself. The clerk also was like robot, no emotions at all, no smiles. If you want dry baos, please go there.
