The environment of this place is very cool! It was very relaxed and calm, like you can just take a laptop and sit in here, order an appetizer & drink and work! Also like the concept… you order first and then pick it up at the pick up window when it’s ready. The only thing they ask of you, is to return the ramen bowl/spoon to the station when you’re done ☺️. Kimchi Fries - 3/5, they need to melt the cheese. Otherwise, it is pretty flavorful & kimchi was pretty good. This is a 4/5 as a leftover, cause you take it home and melt the cheese and then it is an ooey gooey deliciousness!!! 😁 Spicy Tonkatsu - 4/5, flavorful, light, pretty good! The spice actually kicks! Chasu wasn’t bad, kind of tough, but still decent! Takoyaki - 1/5, definitely have had better. The inside was still way too gooey, batter could have cooked just a tad bit longer. And I think it may need some eel sauce on top as well. Milk Tea - 4/5, you can taste the tea and the milk isn’t overwhelming. Chicken Karaage - 4/5, delicious! Poke Bowl - 4/5, only wish there were more sauce and topping options to choose from, other than that… they fill up your bowl with whatever you ask for! My bowl was pretty hefty! Overall, it was a pretty decent place. I’d probably be back! 😁

So we decided to try Gung ho after seeing it online. The online menu is bigger than the store menu that we had seen. You can choose a signature Ramen or create your own. I got the Naruto Ramen after I seen it advertised online and seen a little chalk board with it on the menu. My wife got the shrimp Tonkatsu and my son got the beef miso. My ramen wasnt very warm it had ok flavor. The guy checking the orders and ringing numbers noticed mine was missing ingredients after I asked him which ramen was which. He fixed it quickly. My wife liked hers my son ate as much as he could. I believe the highlight was my pineapple strawberry smoothie with bobas. My son and wife got a milk tea which tasted really good. I didnt see that they offered extra noodles when you have just broth left like you can at Jinya. I still prefer Jinyas Ramen. It was way more flavorful and textures were better. We order the Tokiyaki (Octopus balls) . They had good flavor. They weren't very crisp, more mushy. The shaved fish flakes on top looked really cool as they were wiggling around. Made it look alive. I might go back and try something different or if I'm in the area get me a good boba drink.

I feel bad about writing this, as my family and I have frequented this place many times over the last year since we moved here. However, looking back - the primary reason was 1) it was close to where we live and 2) we didn’t know any other options at the time. Now that we’ve lived here for 1.5 years, I feel like we waste our money whenever we come here for boba or ramen.

Pluses: Pricing is decent. Service is good - your typical walk up and order, sit down and wait for it. The karaage chicken is made from scratch, made with thigh meat, reasonably well flavored and priced for the quantity you pay for. Reward point system is adequate. Atmosphere is contemporary anime flair - fitting for the type of food they have. My kids also like the arcade machine they have.

Minuses: simply put, the flavor and quality/consistency. Boba tea is bland… very bland. If you want good boba tea locally, visit Cha. Teas here are premade, and very bland (did I say that enough?) lacks that robust tea flavor pop. Toppings are okay - typical to what is available elsewhere. Ramen - again - you guessed it - bland. They say they make their broth from scratch daily - but it’s either from a packet or they water it down. I honestly would rate their ramen a 4/10 at best. Any of their flavors. It’s a far cry from a San Diego or Houston quality ramen where literally everything is from scratch… but still, there’s better options locally (Kazama). Their poke bowl is also inconsistent - with my wife’s last order having raw/hard avocado.

Will likely not visit again - at least I don’t want to. But sometimes I lose the argument because kiddos want boba or ramen but don’t want to drive further to get both. For something that tastes TWICE as good? I’ll...

We tried this Gung Ho for the first time this week.

4 stars for the food - they have a pretty wide selection to choose from, & honestly everything tasted very fresh. There is room for improvement: the Vegetable Ramen imo had too much sesame oil, it really overpowered the other flavors in the dish, even the taste of the noodles, which was disappointing. I also wish the bowls had a full egg & not a half, but that's a personal preference. The drinks we got on the side were very good, & the hot tea was actually hot, which I loved.

They need to update their website, it currently is not safety protected, that's why I called in my order versus trying to place one online. When I did call my order in, I was never asked what size drinks I wanted, so everything at pickup was a large. I wish they had asked me if I wanted a medium, which would have been preferable. Other than that the call in order was easy & the staff was very friendly in person as well.

I only picked up my food to go, but the setup & vibe inside the restaurant is really nice, I would love to go back & dine in. There were open table seating options available, as well as some small booths. Wood panel walls with modern aesthetics, & some...
