I am not one to post negative reviews, but this one is deserving of it. I do not know who they are paying to give them 5 star reviews, but it must be a lot. This establishment is the epitome of a poorly managed business. 1) You have to wait outside for a table to come open. Normally, not an issue. But when there are groups ahead of you and a long wait time, you try to provide some seating outside. Maybe, another bench or two. And forget trying to find any parking. Everything is walking. Not an issue for some, but when you have handicapped people in your group, try to make some accommodations. 2) When, and if, you get to be seated, it takes about 10 to 15 minutes to get to put your drink order in. For the record, the tea is excellent. (Probably the best part of our experience). When it came time to order the food, the waiter was good. It was busy so he was in sort of a hurry, no big deal. Then things went down hill from there. 3) I understand, from time to time, orders get wrong. We are all human, we make mistakes. HOWEVER, how are you going to get 6 out of 9 orders wrong, (with 2 of them being forgotten completely). It took, literally, an hour and 15 minutes for 7 of us to get our orders. I am no cook, but I know it does not take 10 minutes to fix eggs, bacon, and toast. It damn sure doesn't take 30 minutes to fix a grilled cheese sandwich, (that was forgotten twice, I might add). The food absolutely sucked. 4) The bill. We cannot forget the bill. A party of 9, split 3 ways. Simple enough, or so we thought. We had to carefully explain to them who was on what ticket, after already doing this, twice. Then, they deducted $7 from my bill, which my wife was one who's food got forgotten. That was it. 4 people, with the whopping $7 discount, was still $66 and some change. And for the record, DO NOT order the sausage. My son, who's wife was the aforementioned forgotten grilled cheese, was given a $7 discount, but billed twice for the forgotten grilled cheese. After a major argument, they finally deducted that from his bill. His bill was still over $50. We spent almost 2 hours in this establishment between waiting, arguing, and barely eating. The time is accurate because I had to pay to park at $4 and hour with a 2 hour minimum, and had 7 minutes left when we loaded back up into our vehicles to leave. Overall, piss poor service, piss poor food, piss poor environment. If we ever go down again, we will definitely...
Read moreDo not waste your time going to The Breakfast club. Our Uber driver from the Savannah airport to Tybee Island recommended this place to us. I wish I could take back the tip I gave them because they steered us so wrong.
The first problem I had with the breakfast club is that they are liars. We woke up starving and did not want to wait a while to eat anything because we thought we were going to faint. I called ahead and asked about how busy they were and how long the wait was. The woman who picked up the phone said they weren’t that busy and it did not take that long to get a table. We arrived at the breakfast club shortly after and discovered there was a HUGE line outside of the restaurant of people waiting to get seated. We waited in line for almost an hour. My friend was so hungry she actually did end up passing out on the stoop of the church next door. Not good. This is what we were trying to avoid. We would have gone somewhere else if we knew this is how long we would have waited.
The food here is not good. All over the menu they brag about their ‘homemade sausage’. I am a meat fanatic (especially when it comes to breakfast meats) and their homemade sausage sucked. It was basically just super tough hamburger meat that was formed into a small patty with no seasoning and burnt. Disappointing. They were also out of the polish sausage which was disappointing. I did the build your own omelette with Italian sausage, tomatoes, mushrooms & spinach. They forgot to add the spinach in my omelette. At this point we waited an hour to get seated and another half hour for our food to come out, so I didn’t return the omelette because I didn’t want to pass out like my friend. Idk how but they made their eggs not taste great. Dunkin’ Donuts serves better eggs than the breakfast club. The hash browns were super greasy and salty. I would not recommend.
The breakfast club is also super expensive for what it is. They are out here in Tybee Island charging $17 for the most mediocre omelette you’ll ever eat. They are confusing their prices with airport prices. I am from New York City and I don’t know of a single place there that sells a $17 omelette....
Read moreTheir slogan is, it's worth the wait...well, it is! Go before 10am and stand a better chance of no lines. No reservations, no wait times. Get to the door, and get in line. Its first come first serve, truly. They sat a party of 1 at a booth, and we sat as 2 at the counter. They sat a party of 4 at the counter, and 2 after that at a booth. That's fair! So good we ate they're 2 mornings in a row. First morning had the Helen's Solidarity. The sausage is so fresh. The grits are real and great. Its what's in the picture. We sat at the grill, and watched (not sure on spelling) Ede, and the man next to her, wave their magical spatulas, banging and clanging, as a sous chef was running fresh cut ingredients, and hand rolling meatballs and sausage! To deliver to the cooks who never skipped a beat. It was amazing to watch. The omlette was top 3 in my book. The hashbrowns (full order in pic) are fresh, and not greasy. You can tell. Still love Acme (Charleston, SC) corned beef hash. As we were there, Ede said Sunday she hand makes hollandaise sauce, for eggs Benedict, my wife favorite, and I needed to try the Luigi omlette. We returned, I checked in with Ede to tell her we accepted the challenge. And oh boy, wife loved her Benedict, real ham, and real hollandaise sauce. But, my Luigi omlette, with fresh hand made marinara, the sausage with fennel inside, I couldn't get enough! That ranked in the top 2 best breakfasts I've ever had. The coffee was smooth and fresh, a surprising part, expecting that gross bitter, been there all day diner coffee. I am home now, writing this review, and sad that I will eat regular eggs. Until next time Ede and staff...thank you so much. If you see a line...it moves pretty quick. Also remember when your eating, theres others waiting, enjoy your food, and move on for...
