I've waited to write a review so as to not seem to be the bitter, opinionated customer. After my many years of travel, this is my first bad review that I've given. Infact, I seldom even write reviews but I don't want anybody else to have this experience. 9 times out of 10 when my husband and I travel, we choose the smaller, family owned hotels/motels. We don't want for a lot as far as fluffy amenities because we're out and about enjoying the local flair. What we do expect is clean accomodations. We visit TI three to four times a year because it's a quick fix for us. We usually stay at the Atlantis Inn and I'm not sure why we didn't this time. I mention that because these hotels are under the same ownership. We arrived and checked in to our room with no problem. This room was acceptable, but on our second day we discovered that out TV only picked up one channel. Maintenance visited but were unable to fix the problem blaming it on Comcast. We were anxious to watch the FIFA Women's World Cup so we asked to move to another room with the same bed size. The front office led us to believe that the room we moved to was also No Smoking. The pillows and drapes smelled of cigarette smoke but we were grateful to have a room with a working TV and we settled. My husband ran out and bought air freshener. Within an hour of moving to our new room and getting ready to head out to the beach, we witnessed four large cockroaches crawling on the walls and the floors. The front office wanted to send someone to our room to spray. Per my request they did give me a can of bug spray as I didn't want someone spraying our room while we were out. The towels desperately need to be replaced and this is a rude awakening especially after coming in from the beach with a little too much sun. The towels felt as if I was drying off with sandpaper. My suggestion is to blot, not rub. The pool was closed one day and in repair, but that didn't bother us because we were there for the beach. Just an observation. The straw that broke the camel's back for me was the shower. I stood in no less than six inches of water. Unfortunately there were no other vacancies on the island. I called the front desk and they did offer to return our money for one night as we checked out early and cut our vacation short. My husband and I work very hard and were so looking forward to a relaxing four days and were sorely disappointed. This type of experience has made VRBO and Airbnb...

This place was the only available room on the entire island so my hands were tied. Extremely over priced for what you get. $200 a night and I got what was subjectively the worst hotel room I have ever stayed in.
The room was full of sand. I understand it's a beach and that's part of the experience, but I mean full. It didn't look like it had been vacuumed in weeks.
The bed sheets had stains all over them. The bed had to have been 20 years old as each side sunk down like a crater and was hard as a rock. All of the outlets on one side of the bed didn't work at all. The fridge was rusted on the front and was very old, did not work well.
There were spider webs and dirt all over the walls and the doors. The water heater for the facility allowed you just long enough to put shampoo in your hair before turning ice cold.
Our window for the room looked directly into the carport of the next door house. I don't mean we had a bad view. I mean that the houses trash bags and cans were literally piled up on the hotel's wall and on our window.
The bath room was gross. The sink and tub were pulling away from the wall. The backs of the curtains had what looked like mold on them.
Here's why it got 2 stars from me. The air conditioner. Best AC I have ever had in a hotel. If you set it on 60 degrees, boy it means 60 degrees. And this might be a con to some people but it was loud. Extremely loud. Now, I sleep at home with a noise machine and a fan just for the noise, so I loved it but some people wouldn't physically be able to sleep with it.
All in all, would I recommend it or come back? I can't say that I would. The AC was nice but with everything else, and the price, I will next time be looking at...
Read moreWe stayed at dunes inn & suites 4/10-4/15. First two nights were great. You can tell the rooms are older and out of date for the price we paid and the bed wasn’t that comfortable. On the 3rd night, we found mold in the bathroom (do have pictures for reference) and the people above us were so loud we didn’t go to sleep until 1 am. I believe they had checked in on our 3rd night. My fiancé even went up to the front desk to see if they could talk to them around 11:30 that night but I don’t think that the lady working that night cared enough to call them. I understand people are vacationing and having fun but 1 am is a bit extreme. Mind you, this was our baby moon as we are waiting the arrival of our son in May so we wanted to enjoy it. The next morning we then talked to the front desk about the mold and the thin flooring so we were moved to a different room. The lady was very generous but said NOTHING about the mold in the bathroom and then proceeded to place an elderly couple in that same room no more than 2 hours after we had moved our things and the housekeeper had cleaned the room. Then, when we got into our other room, 1/4 of the door was ripped off, the left side of the bed was broken to where it felt like you were about to fall off of it and the floor was covered in sand and dirt. We didn’t even go to the beach when we moved into our second room. I have never complained and felt more dirty about staying at a hotel like I have this one. The only great thing was the location and how it’s walking distance to just about...
