Since I know that many people only read the first few lines in a review via Google & GoogleMaps, I'll throw out there that we really enjoyed Lighthouse Pizza and would be happy to return! I will now commence with the rest of the review for those who want more details: My family and I are vacationing for a week here in Tybee and I, as usual, have volunteered to find us good places to eat when we're not cooking for ourselves. I rely heavily on consumer reviews when it comes to choosing good restaurants in towns I am not familiar with myself, so I was online for a good 30-45 minutes before making the final announcement that we'd be eating dinner at Lighthouse Pizza. I was first struck by their advertisement of "Tybee Dough," wanting to see what it was all about. Looking over their menu, it seemed like they had simple ingredients and some basic favorites listed -- pizza, wings, salads, etc. When we got there, we could tell it was just as casual as Tybee Island tends to be. We sat ourselves and were quickly brought menus by the waitress. The staff is young but pleasant, though definitely not super attentive -- though sometimes that can be annoying in itself, so this worked out just fine. I ordered a calzone (big and delicious, couldn't finish it all, ha), my in-laws shared a small pizza (6 slices that they said was plenty!! The crust is nice and thick), and my husband got their wings (crispy, with just a bit of bbq sauce to moisten and flavor). We were all very happy with the results. We eat pizza all the time - thin crust, thick crust, chain places, and local establishments. This was definitely pizza worth coming back for. A good value, a laid-back setting, pretty quick order-to-table turn-around, and a super tasty crust....
Read moreLack of communication with the staff . My pizza was just sitting. I waited for too long for a pizza and it was done. I first blame the young girl that rung me up around 441pm on 05/25 on a Saturday. She needs to be reprimanded. The staffing had my pizza just sitting on the counter for a long time. Someone could have brought my pizza up to me and say "who is Taylor? " but they never did. I had to say something. Until someone finally did. One girl had waited over an hour for her pizza and all her stuff she requested wasn't with the order. The whole staff needs to be retrained and the whole system needs to be reformed. Separate the orders from online order and in person orders. The staffing was very confused and didn't know what they were doing. Poor service poor management. Incompetent workers . No common sense. Staffing doesn't care for customer service. The workers do not communicate very well with each other. They all acted like they were slow. Not intelligent at all. I'm not trying to be mean. They acted like they were really stupid. The pizza wasn't all that good. It wasn't season very well. I will not come back 😤 again . The food didn't even make up for it . Please never buy pizza here. The pizza wasn't all good. Bad service . Staffing are all Incompetent. You don't want to waste your time here. This place is not worth you time and money. Not even worth a penny. Just horrible. I wish I could just give them a 0. They don't deserve even 1 star. The girl charge me 16$ for a small pizza . SMH not worth it. I believe I was...
Read moreHORRIBLE experience! When I called to order take out via their phone number, it asked which location so I chose the north location because of the location of our rental. Upon ordering carry out I was not informed that I had actually ordered from the south location. The traffic on this holiday weekend was nothing like I have ever experienced but knew after trying the north location and it being closed I needed to drive to the south Location and could park in the carry out spot right out front. There were no spots available and the police actually blocked the road right behind me because of the traffic situation on the island. I called lighthouse pizza to ask if they could run my order out to my car because I was sitting in front of their store in stopped traffic with NO parking available in any direction and they said “there are only 2 people working and we are busy we cannot do that, just whenever you find a spot come in.” With the traffic situation on this day, I would have spent HOURS of my vacation time searching for a spot not even close to the restaurant because of the limited parking that Tybee Island offers. You would think that as a customer service establishment they would have been a little more accommodating to this situation, but they were not. I DO NOT recommend...
