Island decor and reggae on the sound system makes this place a great beach stop. Full bar with some top shelf selections available. We had the special for the day, a shrimp po boy either grilled or blackened. Our table had both and an order of fish and chips. This sandwich was money. The sauce was killer and the shrimp were perfect. Best fries I’ve had in a while also. Our table split. Apiece of key lime pie and it was delicious also. Our server took great care of us and was pleasant and sparked some conversation. We have been to Tybee multiple times and this was our first visit to Salt Island and I am ashamed of myself for not coming sooner. If all of the food on the menu is as good as this, they have a goldmine. We will be back on this trip for sure. Update. We returned to salt Island on Saturday night for dinner. This is the only place we ate at twice during our visit with the exception of Huc a Poos, but that’s a given if you like to drink cold beer and need a pizza slice. Anyway, we both did the build your own plate for dinner. Blackened Shrimp and Grits for me and Blackened Shrimp and Savannah Red Rice for the wife. We ordered the Brussels as an appetizer and I didn’t get a pic because they were gone. So good! I’ll be looking for the fall menu change on this dish using maple syrup and maybe my suggestion. The food here is top notch, so is the service. In our opinion, this is hands down the best food on Tybee. Everything is fresh and flavorful and piping hot when it gets to your table. We can’t wait to make the trip back.

So, based on the reviews and speaking with the hostess, we were looking forward to eating here. It was all of a 5 min drive from the North parking lot for Tybee Island. No reservation was needed and there was plenty seating avail. They had a drink special, Paloma for $5, so I tried it. Lets just say the only reason I finished it, was b/c I don't believe in alcohol abuse! The tequila was horrid and I understand grapefruit is tart- but good Goddess!! The kids ordered burgers and every single one was BURNT AND DRY! Apparently, a regular customer came in and EVERYONE working was so busy trying to crawl in her (rude) behind, they forgot they were actually cooking food for other customers. Dude buddy brought our bruschetta out (which was AMAZING) and we complimented the presentation - he had zero response. It was as though we didn't even speak. Our waitress, the chick, was good and very helpful. The buffalo cauliflower was also AMAZING - which is why we were taken aback when the main courses came and were mostly flavorless and dry! I added salt and pepper, but the curry was lackluster to say the least. The mahi sandwich was good, probably due to it being blackened and the fish and chips was also good - probably due to it being fried. The chicken and shrimp in the curry had zero flavor by itself and the pork rinds were BLAND AF! They looked well seasoned, but nope, we were fooled again! All in all, wouldn't recommend or make a return visit. Oh, and lets not forget the fly with maggots crawling out on the window sill!!

Excellent Service. Didnt catch the name of our server , but she's headed to St. Croix. Chose this restaurant based on great reviews and the unique menu . It did not disappoint. A real beachy coastal feel as soon as you walk through the doors. Chose to get a few appetizers and adult beverages. Pink Cadillac sour was pretty good , brewed in Savannah . They have a great selection of craft beers. Our choices for tap were not available but they had alot of varieties in can. We got the fried cauliflower , had a nice smoky blue cheese( maybe a side of blue cheese for dipping would be good) got the beer cheese hushpuppies and yes, I thought odd, fried smelt..actually really good . Its a Michigan thing according to my bf. I felt accomplished trying something new. Most restaurants have below a 4.0 on Tybee Island and its all the same kind of fare. Do yourself a favor and try something Beachy and Chic . This will be our Tybee Island restaurant of choice on our visits .

Went here one day after the beach with some of my college sorority sisters. Loved the food, but one of my friends originally asked the waitress (Jen B) if she could use a picture of her card and have the waitress manually enter the numbers because she had just lost her card. She said originally she was able to do that. We ate and it was about $30-40 per person. The food took awhile, but no worries we enjoyed the atmosphere at first. Then when it was time to pay, the waitress came back with an unpleasant attitude, and when my friend asked if she could write down her card number she said, “no I thought you had the card with you,” when my friend had previously stated she did not have it, but had a picture of it. I eventually payed for my friend and I’s food disregarding her rude attitude to us with a $100 bill. She comes back with 12 - $1 bills a $20 and a $5. A bit uncalled for with the amount of dollar bills, but we tipped and causally left. As we are leaving, we were simply judged and talked about blatantly in-front of us by three staff members, making the atmosphere feel unwelcoming. Overall, great food, but the staff could work on their personable skills especially being in the...
