Savannah Praline Company — Restaurant in Tybee Island

The Savannah Praline Company on Tybee Island is wonderful. It reminds me of an old fashioned candy store. I have had pralines from better known places (Savannah Candy Kitchen and NOLA Southern Candymakers) and Savannah Praline Company bets them all!! The pralines they make at Savannah Praline Company are melt in your mouth smoooooth. What sets them apart is the texture, taste and price. Savannah Praline Company pralines have the best texture (no grainy sugar) that melt in your mouth, the taste is pure pecans and sweet smooth sugar, and the price is $5 less per pound than the others. First time customer ordered one scoop of cookie dough ice cream. The man behind counter then proceeds to attempt to sculpt a behemoth sized monstrosity onto a single sugar cone. At first he started out with a decent amount for 1 scoop, then readdress the situation and asked me, “You said only one scoop correct?” I said yes and then that’s when instead of scooping out the ice cream he proceeded to shovel an ungodly amount of ice cream onto the cone. At one point the gentlemen inspected the absolute unit of a scoop he just created in attempt to see where he would be able to fit more ice cream. The masterpiece was so funny the entire 8 person staff and remaining of restaurant burst into laughter. Definitely will return....

Quite an odd little place, in the best way possible. I had a rumble in my belly that only ice cream could satisfy, and so we went down the street to here. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in the door. There was a bulk candy wall with a wide selection of taffy, as well as a vintage soda stand. I mustered up enough courage to try the sweet corn soda, which was far less disgusting than I had imagined. The staff was very attentive and made me feel like I was at home. Hospitality is 10/10.
